INDUSTRY PROFESSIONAL - @xsessiv 💻

David Lotay (Xsessiv) was born in London, England and was brought up being influenced by music such as house, hip hop, garage and early 90’s jungle. He moved from London to Perth Australia at the age of 15 and started attending club and warehouse rave parties in the late 90’s at the time Drum & Bass was making it’s mark in Perth. In December of 1999 Dave got on the microphone at a rave called Prism when there were no MC’s around at the time, this was the start of a major turning point in Dave’s life. He soon became a common name on flyers and posters performing at events for Perth’s all ages rave scene.

During Xsessiv’s career he was honored to become the youngest official resident MC for Perths major music promotors and club nights such as MFI, Delirium, Loaded Dice, Raggabone, Calibre, Drum Club, Trafik, Rise, @originfields , @inhibitentertainment , @boomtickevents and more.

He was chosen by @pendulum as their official MC for their Hold Your Colour tour and in 2014 was personally chosen by @sigma to join them on their Australian & NZ tour. Xsessiv is personally requested by DnB legends @ltj_bukem , @danny_byrd , @cyantific , @spydnb , @cultureshock and @djmarkym when they tour Australia.

He also produces music under the alias ‘Diminish’ , he was published and interviewed in the legendary UK Drum and Bass magazine ‘Knowledge Mag’ and has been on DJ rotation in Perth for 15+ years including entering the WA DMC DJ Championships in 2003. He has released music on labels such as @fokuzrecordings , @central.station.records , Interphase Recordings, @xelon and @takeoff.recordings .

SATL:

Hailing from Poland, Satl is one of the leading lights in a new generation of Drum & Bass producers. Still only in his early 20’s he first started producing over a decade ago, giving his music a refinement and depth beyond his years.

Blending a host of influences Satl has managed to craft a signature sound best described as hazy cosmic soul with powerful rolling drums. Never satisfied and driven to excel at his craft, the young producer is absurdly prolific, often writing dozens of tracks in a month. It’s not surprising then that his music has been heavily supported by some of the most influential DJs in the scene and has him working closely with leading labels such as The North Quarter and Integral.

His productivity also influences his DJ set which heavily feature his own work making them unique and sought after showcases. His blend of melancholic, yet energetic soulful music has already taken him across the world, from London to Hong Kong and Sydney and yet Satl’s journey is only just beginning.
