now i leave at the first red flag
because to end up with a list like this…
you have to look at yourself

i thought i could change them
should i have been treated the way i was? no
but i lacked the esteem needed to reject being treated horribly

so being chosen by a man with a infamous track record meant something
it meant i was special, right?
who wouldn’t want to show up as their best self for me?

choosing self respect means being lonely more often
it means your uncomfortable and uncertain you’ll have the future you dreamt of

but if i reconnect with reality, what were they doing really?
giving me notifications so my phone lit up and symbolizing i was worthy of love

the irony is…
there was no love
and they weren’t worthy of my energy, creativity, pure heart, or loyalty

so, who’s on your list? by @xtinabiv
