My sweet perfect handsome boy Watson has passed away. Everyone who knows me knew about him and to know him is to love him. I can’t believe my sweet precious boy is gone. He was the perfect dog. Everyone who met him said he was special. Furley and I built our lives around him and his care because our love for him is so great. Gentle, kind, intuitive, and we were connected so deeply. He gave us nearly 8 years of his life to spend with him and they were the best of mine. I don’t know how old he really was but I hope his life we gave him made up for whatever he endured before we adopted him. He loved to sunbathe, fresh air in his face, laying outside for hours, long walkies, going to work, going in the car, the scent of the ocean, people, he loved people so much, he loved Oh Hello Dog, treats, pizza and croissants when we let him have some, a cozy blanket. Because of my work he got to be in music videos and photo shoots with Bad Religion and Joyce Manor and Touché Amoré! He saw Converge in a parking lot. What other dog can say that? He loved meeting bands at work and he thought they were all there to play with him. Watson loved going anywhere we went. We had so many adventures. He just wanted to be with his mama and papa all the time and so did we. He loved that Andre 3000 flute album and I got to play it for him as he lay to rest. He loved the simpler things in life and he taught me to slow down and enjoy those things too. Thank you papas for being my greatest teacher, my greatest love. For letting me be your mama and Furley your papa. There’s a giant hole in my heart and the grief is overwhelming. The pain is so hard. Thank you for everyone who saw a big scary pitbull and saw past the tough exterior and allowed him to love you. That’s all he ever wanted. I’m with you always Watson. Visit me in my dreams.
