Come make an Eiffel Tower photo prop for Humphrey's Pawty on my @xtool_au M2!

I was asked to make a custom Eiffel Tower photo prop for a dog pawty and of course I said yes!
This is by far the biggest and most detailed project I have cut on my M2, and let me say a lot of learning occurred!

Despite being outside on my balcony, I decided to try out the Desktop Smoke Purifier as my sinus surgery has destroyed my entire sense of smell and I didn't want to fill up the balcony with smoke. And with all those tiny details there was a lot of smoke.

The basswood I used was quite soft and wasn't very sturdy when standing, so I created a thicker offset layer and stuck the two layers together. I also glued on some dowels and skewers to give it that extra stability. I also added four base plates to each tower foot, the fourth one made it stand almost perfectly straight.

To make it look more realistic, I sprayed it metallic rose gold and bejewelled it with clear rhinestones to make it sparkle like when it's lit up at night.

Absolutely love how it turned out, and it looked fab with all the other pawty props.

This is one of those projects that made me think… why wasn’t I making these sooner?!

I picked up this pendant for around $1, turned a photo into a silhouette and engraved it using my @xtool_au @xtool.official F2. Something like this could easily sell for around $30 — and personalised jewellery is a HUGE category on Etsy.

That’s the kind of product margin I love 🙌🏼

One of the reasons I love the F2 is that it has both a diode AND infrared laser.

The diode is great for things like wood, leather and acrylic, while the infrared laser lets me engrave metals, plastics and jewellery like this.

So one machine can take you from personalised jewellery to keyrings, leather products, wooden gifts and so much more.

It’s fast, accurate, compact and honestly one of my favourite machines I’ve used.

When I started making products, I spent SO much time trying to figure out which machines and supplies were actually worth buying — usually through trial and error 😂

That’s why I share what works for me now.

I’ll be sharing heaps more F2 projects and product ideas you could actually make and sell.

Part 2 of making my first OP-inspired Mahjong set! 🀄️✨

This time I’m printing all 34 suit tiles: Dragons, Winds, Dots, Bamboos & Characters! 👀

I only had enough blank tiles for one sample set, so there was zero room for mistakes 😭 Luckily the @xtool_au O1 lined and printed everything perfectly on the first try!

And I LOVE how many tiles fit on the larger print bed!! Being able to batch print so many different designs at once makes testing a full collection like this so much easier. 💖

The details came out so crisp too! All those tiny little lines I spent forever drawing actually survived 😂✨
