a poem from my heart to yours:

one rainy day my head began to cloud
my thoughts raced and time slipped through my hands
who are you
where did you come from
what made you this way
how do we escape

i pushed out all that was mine to seek what is all of ours
cold silence and a hope for a new beginning
no more shame
no more guilt
no more fear
no more pain
hoping that the ringing in my ears and the screeches from the ravens tongue will silence

but instead i was met with false advertisement
acts of kindness in trade for being left alone
acts of sacrifice in trade for a life of servitude
money to pay back
a new consciousness to shove down
and a new way of living
taking and no giving

i yearn for the days where the sunlight was enough
where we gather around the river to praise the holy water
not because of god but because of a connected need for survival and joy

i yearn to see the souls of everyone who passes
to trade stories and songs and let the weight of the world
be simply lifted

let every voice sing a song of tranquility
to wash over us like the moon
who smiles back just because it can. by @xtra.evy
