Anger with Hatred This work originates from an act of destruction. In a moment of hatred and anger, I shattered a lamp. Instead of repairing it, I reassembled the fragments. The resulting form was not predetermined; it is the manifestation of emotion within matter. For a long time, hatred and anger have been regarded as forces that must be suppressed. Here, however, they are neither eliminated nor denied, but preserved and transformed into structure and light. “Light of Thought” Artist: XuHan Material: Copper The Light of Thought is the second piece in the “Seven Dancers” series, created as a gift for the artist himself. Forged in copper, its form emerges from welding’s natural solidification and molten traces, leaving a raw, visceral texture. This work explores the power of thought—how reflection can inspire clarity and growth, yet, when excessive, can also breed heaviness and despair. When natural light refracts across its upper surface, shimmering iridescence reveals the complexity and contradictions within thought itself. Through the perforated crown, light spills outward, casting fragmented and irregular shadows. These fleeting, distorted patterns embody both the expansive reach of thinking and the darker recesses of the inner mind. Thus, the lamp becomes more than an object of function: it is a metaphor. In the dialogue of light and shadow, one glimpses the profound duality of thought—its brilliance, and its burden.
