untitled contrapuntal i wrote for an assignment abt vampires ! not my best work cuz i was in a rush n wrote it in 20 mins, but that's the fastest i've ever written a contrapuntal :DDD

i wanted to do a proper concluding post for escapril, but i haven't really been writing + i've been on n off ig for the past few weeks. sorry if u followed me expecting more... i'm a p inconsistent poster </3 however, i'm def feeling a lot more driven to write after escapril n reading everyone's art n prompts. i discovered so many yummy writers n poets last month n i'm super happy (˶˃ ∇ ˂˶) if u're one of my moots now i luv u n i'll catch up on all ur pieces asap !! o7

i hesitated to write this, let alone post it, so i might delete it later.

on the 15th, my tito passed away unexpectedly after an accident. i only have vague memories of him from when we visited the philippines years ago, but him and my mom have always been close. my mom gets really happy to see my brother and i getting along, and i know it's because she sees herself and my tito in us.

it's moments like this that make me hate that my family immigrated here. it fucking sucks to watch my mom attend her brother's funeral over a messenger video call. it fucking sucks that this isn't even the first family funeral she couldn't attend in person. it fucking sucks that we don't know when she'll be able to hug her sisters again. my mother my mother my mother.

my tito was a really good singer, and somewhere, he's still singing.

for #escapril day 8 i present u with a very messy blackout (red-out?) poem of a very emo note i wrote on may 16, 2023 at 12:03am LMAO i'm pretty sure the little quote at the start came from a tiktok i'd just watched.

it's kinda hard to read, but it says, "see the world in you. stop trying so hard to be someone that you'll never truly love. grow up and be a child again. look inside and see your wonder. look at you. you are real and we are winning. we are flying."

my relationship with my parents is a lot better now !much more understanding on both sides. i think. today, i told my mom something that i've been secretly agonizing over for months out of fear n academic guilt, and the conversation went a lot better than i expected (ó﹏ò) !! when i was going thru my notes for writing inspo i found this one instead, n it was really healing to reread it and find that i don't feel this much anger at my parents anymore. there's still the anger i have at myself, but i'm making more room for forgiveness in the mirror !

i prolly should've posted this yesterday but i just found it this morning !! i wrote it back in october for an upcoming publication n forgot about it, but it's one of my fav poems i wrote last year (∩´͈ ᐜ `͈∩) contrapuntal so yummy~

smth i wrote during my 3hr evening lecture after i rediscovered the note in the last slide LMAOOO i was goin thru it on nov. 23 at 3:44 am ig

everything i mentioned is smth (of many ocd things) i currently deal with or dealt with starting when i was as young as uhhh whatever age u are in grade 2.

i still feel weird talking about my ocd. even with my friends. i'll giggle about "blinking in a triangle" or make lighthearted references to the "ocd monster", but i don't usually get super serious about it. i feel like people don't believe i have it or that it affects me that much.

but the constant ache in my body is real. the time i waste doing all these stupid rituals is real. the shame n embarrassment i feel when someone catches me doing a particularly weird somatic compulsion is real. sometimes i look like i'm having a seizure or like i'm getting a demon exorcised outta me lol so i try my best to suppress those ones in public.

it doesn't help that a lot of ppl are misinformed about ocd, n i rarely see rep for my (main?) kind of ocd online or anywhere. so. hashtag impostor syndrome. maybe i'm the fake one !

this is just a reminder that ur words have weight. stop using mental disorders and differences to reference "quirks" you have. i see the same misuse that happens with ocd currently happening with autism and schizophrenia so much n if u think ts is funny please keep your mouth shut around me. or use it to say different words. or keep it shut forever maybe idk sorry but not really.

anyway, shoutout to my ppl w sensorimotor ocd—may we catch a break soon cuz i'm tireddd by @xvampirys
