TRACK 7 // ASTRAL//GARDENS i wanted at least one song on the album to be some sort of multi-genre “death loop”. this 8 minute monstrosity definitely ticked the boxes or several genres. it includes acid bass, jazz, phonk, chiptune, ambient, and artcore sections. huge thanks to @alex_johnson.5 for composing the section from 3:05 to 3:25 fun fact: the end of the jazz section took heavy inspiration from the music of Dave Brubeck by @xyth_music

TRACK 3 // INFLVX // // // this was the very first song i wrote as //XYTH. at the time, it felt like a statement that i was beginning a new, much brighter chapter in my musical career. a couple months before, my bandmate told me he didn’t want to continue writing metal music anymore. my subsequent requests to join other bands repeatedly fell through (due to my school/internship situation). desperate for a creative outlet, i looked back at doing a solo project again. at the same time, i was starting to get into electronic music and sound design. the rest is history fun fact: the voice heard in the background during the ambient dnb section is a lecture recording i took of my thermodynamics professor! by @xyth_music

TRACK 2 // SERRATION//SERENITY when i first opened up the daw project for this track, i had little to no idea what it would sound like; this was a track written entirely on the computer. the only constraints i really gave myself were about 7-8 minutes in duration, lots of time signature and key switches, and some sort of piano melody to be used as a motif for the whole album. unfortunately, the virtually limitless creative freedom i gave myself came at a cost. there was around a 2 month period where i felt too intimidated to open up the song project. i would scrap section after section, feeling as though they were too “simple” or i didn’t feel that i could produce them well enough. each demo iteration of this song sounds vastly different. despite the hardship, i carried on, even if it was just minor tweaks every so often. i’d say it took about 5 months from the very beginning to end of the writing process. in the end though, id say this is one of my favorite pieces of music i’ve ever written; a true labor of love! fun fact: the piano melody at the very beginning was heavily influenced by the song “Clairvoyant” by The Contortionist (at 4:00) also, the lyrics were written while i was vacationing in spain! // LYRICS // Sunrise, this dampened sphere surmised Constant motion from primordial creation Surfaces adept to sentience, It fills a part of me Harboring the order of this cataclysmic harmony We sink in viscid currents Their echoes harbor our rebirth Deconstruct Endlessly We await Hope it leaves Crawling towards the edge We hesitate to take this faithless leap Curtains burn away Witnessing the end as it repeats Take the toll Turn the key Deconstruct Endlessly Peer behind the veil, the fabric always underneath Caustic waters sailed, breaking waves on reality We slip away as time moves on Cold catharsis sets above this dawn You felt erased by the truth Holding onto absent virtue Bound by this entropic quality This ever fleeting memory Motes of dust spiral on toward their collapse Its remnants fill our hollow lungs Permeate this fractured space we hail divine Deconstruct Endlessly We await Serration of serenity by @xyth_music

TRACK 1 // SONATA//SOMNIFEROUS // // // i wanted to start the album out with something both atmospheric and attention grabbing. i also wanted it to smoothly transition into the 2nd track. with these criteria, i composed this 100 second album opener that i am extremely proud of! fun fact: the ambient swells heard throughout the first half were created with my electric guitar and heavy fx by @xyth_music

A S T R U S // OUT NOW // // // this album is the final result of almost a year of pure dedication, and a statement to the electronic music community. with everything from ambient soundscapes, to dubstep, to cinematic piano, to metal, i can’t exactly place this record into any specific sub-genre. hence, i am coining the term “xyth-core” to describe it! about 90% of the music i listen to is progressive metal, and the goal of this record was to use that influence in the context of electronic music. that influence is what drove this album to include so many key changes, odd time signatures, and longer tracks. my wish is that this record inspires a more progressive future for the electronic music community. and with that said, i present my debut album to you all! - //xyth // // // ALL SONGS WRITTEN//PRODUCED//MIXED//MASTERED BY //XYTH ALL VOCALS GENERATED USING THE NATALIE SOUNDBANK BY SYNTH V ALL VISUALIZERS DESIGNED BY //XYTH EXTERNAL 3D ASSETS ATTRIBUTED IN YT STREAM HUGE THANKS TO THE FOLLOWING INDIVIDUALS FOR THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS AND SUPPORT: @alex_johnson.5 @itskyle.6996 @mitchell.thielen @tracesremain @paulpriebemusic by @xyth_music
