Are there two sorts of refugees?
Dear EU, are Putin's bombs on civilians in Syria less mortal than in Ukraine?
Is it a question of skin colour, of nationality of religion to be recognised as a refugee in Europe?
Or should racial discrimination be considered a "European value"
and double standards proud part of western civilisation?
Are African and Asian people fleeing the war in #Ukraine not worth of European protection?
It is so brave to speak up against Putin in Russia, what about us? are we in the west only supposed to clap hands, or may we also dare to denounce injustice in the EU?
May we remember that refugee people are held in miserable conditions in closed detention centers in Greece, are getting pushbacked, stripped of their posessions, thrown into the sea, beaten up by European border police forces...?
We have to act NOW to stop discrimination at the EU borders in #Spain, #Greece, #Croatia, #Hungary, #Poland....

We stand with all the victims of war. #Ukranian, #Russian, from #Donbas or #Africa.

Btw: It is amazing how many #Syrians and #Afghani people in #Europe are offering their help to Ukranian #refugees.

The Spanish state still celebrates the colonisation of #AbyaYala ,
(what they call “America”) on the 12th of October.

Until some years ago it was called the “dia de la raza”
now it’s called the “dia de hispanidad”, and is a national holiday which many spanish citizens don’t want to celebrate.
It is a shame,
but still the kingdom feels proud for having “discovered” and “civilised” a continent,
without acknowledging the genocιde, the destruction of cultures, the oppression, the enslavement, forced disappearance of languages, the looting of natural resources, the horrible crimes and misery …

The only thing to celebrate are the centuries of resistance against this inhumane system of injustice, racism and horror.
Today antiracist rallies, marches and events will oppose the official celebrations.
The struggle goes on!

Now it is the ICC, the international criminal court in the Hague.
Trump himself said, that the sanctions against the ICC are a measure for defending Bibi Netanyahu & co.
Who is next?
The current USA administration is attacking, threatening, sanctioning, dismantling any institution that guarantees human rights, every civil movement or public organisation that defies power, each tradition reminding the principles of justice and democracy.
They have the support of billionaires, they count on the silence of the self proclaimed liberals and the fear of countries whose economy depends on the USA.
Far right xenophobic ultranationalists, white supremacists, supporters of savage capitalism and bloody military interventions are on the rise.

it is time to stand up, speak out and work together for building a wide transnational, intersectional popular resistance front.
Human rights defenders, workers, feminists, anticolonialists, fighters for climate justice, migrants, indigenous nations, genuinely liberal democrats, and believers in truth, people with memory and consciousness have a lot more to lose if they don’t unite and fight back.
The trumpist propaganda will keep on pointing at every single issue that divides us, but we have a huge thing in common:
We have a common enemy who won’t stop until the last fortress of human dignity has fallen.
Have no fear!
They will fall, because we have confidence in the victory of good over evil.

It is 5 years since the founding of @refugeesinlibya

5 years since the violent raids in Tripoli against migrants which led to the 100-days protest outside of UNCHR from where many were detained.

5 years on, we keep alive the memory of those who died, some in detention in Mitiga prison, others in the depths of the Mediterranean.
RiL continues to support the migrants and refugees across Libya subjected to daily violence, harassment, arbitrary arrest and detention.

5 years on, we keep denouncing the EU-funded system of capture at sea, detention and torture in Libyan prisons is now well-documented. States know, Frontex knows and the legal tools are ready. Now we want to see consequences and accountability.

5 years after our start, we gathered with human rights defenders, including survivors, activists, artists, lawyers, and many more, for a weekend in Berlin - to reflect, to strengthen our network and to move solidarity into action.

DENAZIFIED!
Germany denazification was a process of whitewashing the criminals through a system where commitees of ex members of the NS regime were absolving people for their collaboration.
No wonder that West Germany had high ranking NS personalities becoming judges, ministers and even president of the republic.
And it explains how and why the real problem of an education system promoting emotional numbness, authoritarian arrogance, suprematism and patriarchy was never seriously addressed.

Even after the popular reaction to the tragic eviction of #maricarmen , the #Puigdemont party of Catalan conservatives #junts deny their support to the spanish progressive government.
They prefer to join the Spanish right #PP and the ultraright #VOX parties, voting against the proposed measures that, amid a deep housing crisis, would guarantee the rights of tenants.
Their decision to defend the "right to speculation", to ignoring the claim of millions of citizens, stands in a long tradition of supporting the enrichment of the few, the privileged and the rich, and not the interests of Catalan society.

The Catalan "liberals" of mr. Puigdemont and the rising Catalan ultra right of mrs. Orriols party are using the claim for Catalan independence as a smoke shield for promoting the interests of the Catalan elites.
