It feels like yesterday we were holding you for the first time, wondering who you would become. Then somehow, in what feels like a blink, the little boy who needed us for everything has grown into a young man we couldn’t be more proud of.

Aiden, we’ve watched you grow through every stage the smiles, the scraped knees, the first days of school, the friendships, the challenges, the victories and the disappointments. We’ve watched you discover the things you love, especially football, and then dedicate yourself to becoming better at them. But what makes us proudest has never been what you accomplish. It’s who you’ve become along the way.

You’re strong, driven, caring, loyal and determined. You’ve learned that life won’t always go according to plan, but you keep moving forward. You’ve given us countless reasons to smile, a few reasons to worry, and more memories than we could ever fit into one post.

Now we find ourselves saying goodbye to your high school years, and that’s harder than we ever imagined.

So this year, take it all in.

Enjoy the Friday nights under the lights. Enjoy your friends. Enjoy the laughs, the classrooms, the practices, the wins, the losses, the ordinary days you don’t realize you’ll someday miss. Don’t rush toward what comes next. You have your entire life for that.

Wherever the next chapter takes you, never forget that you will always be our greatest accomplishment, not because of football, grades, awards or anything you could ever achieve, but simply because you are our son.

Being your Mom and Dad has been the greatest privilege of our lives.

One last year. One last ride. A lifetime of memories still ahead.

When someone has been a part of your entire life, it’s hard to imagine a world where they are no longer there. I’m incredibly grateful for the years I was given with my grandmother, from being that little boy sitting beside her on the swing, to growing up, building a family of my own, and still having her there as part of it.

My grandmother lived a long life, but somehow it still doesn’t feel long enough.

I’ll forever remember growing up in your pool, grits and bacon on Saturday mornings, and all the little moments that seemed so ordinary then, but somehow feel more precious than ever today. More than anything, thank you for a lifetime of memories and for giving me one of my life’s greatest privileges, the chance to call you my Grandma.

Thank you for the life you lived, the family you helped build, and the memories you leave with all of us.

Most people leave events inspired. Very few leave changed.

The true value of attending an event isn’t the speakers, the networking, or the motivation you feel while you’re there. It’s what happens when you walk back into your shop on Monday morning.
