If your baby is due this September or October, I have opened a small number of spaces for private postpartum support. 🤎

Whether you’d like a one-off visit or support through those first precious weeks, send me a DM and tell me a little about what you need.

Do children need to hear “I love you” or is showing them enough?

Michael Owen has spoken about not telling his children he loves them, saying they can clearly see that he does. From what we see publicly, they appear to have a close and happy family.

It got me thinking…

Should we tell our children we love them? Or can love simply be shown?

I’d genuinely like to hear what you think and what was normal in your family growing up.

Some things about motherhood only make sense once you’re living them.

And sometimes, we just need the space to talk about them honestly — without judgement, without pretending we have it all together.

That’s the kind of conversation I want to have here.

If that sounds like your kind of space, follow along 🤎

Often a child’s behaviour is also a form of communication. We the adults, need to look beyond the behaviour and « see » the child. #parenting #seethechildnotthebehaviour by @yaba_ble

🇬🇧 🇬🇧 This morning, the Prime Minister announced plans to prevent children under 16 from accessing social media.

As a parent, I understand why. As someone who has spent many years working with children and families, I also understand the concerns around online safety, bullying, harmful content and mental health.

And to be clear, I don’t necessarily disagree with restrictions.

But I do wonder whether restrictions alone address the root cause of the problem.

Today’s children did not create social media. They were born into it. For many of them, it has always existed. It is part of the world they have grown up in.

So if we believe social media can be harmful, should we not also be asking more of the companies that design, manage and profit from these platforms?

Because eventually those children turn 16.

The platforms remain the same.

The algorithms remain the same.

The risks do not suddenly disappear overnight.

Perhaps restrictions are part of the answer, but they cannot be the whole answer.

Children deserve protection. But they also deserve a digital world that is safer by design.

I’d be interested to hear your thoughts. Are we addressing the root cause, or are we simply managing the symptoms? by @yaba_ble

One of the most common things I hear from parents is:

“I’m exhausted.”

Sleep difficulties can affect the whole family, but parents don’t need judgement or generic advice.

They need support that helps them understand what might be driving the challenge in the first place.

Every child is different.

Every family is different.

And there is rarely a one-size-fits-all answer.

I’d love to hear from you. Need support with your child’s sleep?

Type SLEEP in the comments.
