I think I go back and look at our wedding photos once a week. Then I lose my shit all over again. I struggled so much on our wedding day. We had just got my diagnosis 3 weeks prior and I was tired, weak, and praying my legs would work. But we made it. And seeing Dave’s face waiting for me at the end was all I needed to push thru. Our support system was and still is unmatched! If I could post every single pic I would (IG go ahead and fix that please) by @yafavoriteaunty

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but for me, this journey is more than a month, a ribbon, or a reminder. It’s my reality. 💗🎗️
Today, I honor ME. The woman who walked into rooms she never imagined she’d have to enter. The woman who endured treatments, surgeries, changes to her body, and battles that weren’t always visible to the world. The woman who has had to learn a new version of herself while still finding the strength to keep going.
I honor the days I was strong and the days I was simply surviving. The tears I cried in private, the fears I didn’t always speak aloud, and the courage it took to keep showing up even when I was tired of being courageous.
Cancer changed me in ways I’m still learning to understand. It changed my body, my perspective, and parts of my life I can never get back. But it has also reminded me that I deserve grace, patience, softness, and love through every version of myself.
I am more than my diagnosis. More than my scars. More than what I’ve survived. I am still ME. Still growing. Still becoming. Still worthy of celebrating, even on the days when this new normal feels heavy.
So this October, I’m not just raising awareness. I’m honoring the woman in the mirror. The woman who is still healing, still learning, and still finding her way.
To every survivor, every woman currently fighting, every thriver, and every soul we carry in our hearts who is no longer here — this month is for us. Our stories matter. Our lives matter. And so do we. 💗
I didn’t choose this journey, but I’m choosing to honor the woman who continues to walk it. 🎗️🩷

August 14: Breast MRI
August 15: unknown mass found on left breast. Ultrasound ordered
August 18: right implant capsular contracture found
August 25: MASS IS BENIGN 🙌🏾
September 21: Right breast capsulotomy

My mother, Annie Manning, is the heart and continued inspiration behind Champagne, Courage & the Cure. She was my shero, my fighter, and my biggest fan. She taught me how to move through life with grace, poise, humility, and simplicity.

I’m still my daddy’s child—tough, no-nonsense, confident in my value, and clear about how a man should treat a woman and his children. However, my mother showed me the woman I wanted to become. She was my living example of Proverbs 31, and I truly believe God had her in mind when He wrote it.

Every October 17, my heart breaks all over again. You never get over losing your mother, especially one like mine. Through the love of God, I’ve learned how to live with the loss and turn my pain into purpose. Spreading breast cancer awareness, sharing resources, and helping other women heal help me keep her legacy alive.

Ash knows his great- grandmother, and his children will know her too.

I’m sure you have—or have had—an extraordinary woman like her in your life. Please come out and support Champagne, Courage & the Cure in her honor. Let’s celebrate our sheroes, support those still fighting, and help save lives 🩷
