Yale’s central campus spans 300+ acres, so it feels only fair that a half-acre (or so) goes to the dogs 🐶

For decades, the Divinity School’s Saint Ronan Street Dog Park has been a neighborhood hub where pups play and their humans connect. It’s the perfect place to build community because, as Melissa Wisner ’05 puts it, “the dogs do away with the need for formal introductions.”

Congratulations to Rev. Dr. Bryan Spinks (pictured right), the Bishop F. Percy Goddard Professor Emeritus of Liturgical Studies and Pastoral Theology, on the 50th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood. The milestone was celebrated on September 20 at a special service bringing together the Connecticut Episcopal parishes of Higganum, Killingworth, and Northford. Rev. Dr. Andrew McGowan, McFaddin Professor in the Practice of Early Christianity and Anglican Studies, preached the homily, with friends and former colleagues joining the celebration.

At a time of ecological breakdown, how can the Living Earth Community inspire awe, wonder, and transformational action to protect our planetary home?

This webinar will introduce participants to the Living Earth Community project, an interactive knowledge commons featuring multimedia resources on the intelligences of nature, ecological worldviews, and the emerging field of Earth Law.

John Grim and Sam King of the @yaleforumreligionecology will reflect on the practical implications of shifting from seeing the natural world as a “collection of objects” to a “communion of subjects” – including ocean, freshwater, and forest protection, biodiversity restoration, and the Rights of Nature movement.

This webinar will also serve as an invitation to the Living Earth Community conference at the Yale Peabody Museum on October 17, 2026.

Hosted by the @yaledivinityschool Center for Continuing Education
