Last month in the context of @the___return___ , a Hive of artists, a study field, invocation and homecoming; I shared a performance piece that felt like an anchoring of years of fieldwork into a space. In the midst of winter, it all came together and made sense; what has been researched, tended and lived over time converged all at once, witnessed by those who needed to be present. Whose bodies needed to be moved and touched. A body of work, a creative process; when one is inside it, can feel many things at once; and then there’s these moments when another element falls into place, that makes one exhale; seeing the puzzle pieces together. The desert’s breath was with me; and the ways I gave my body to her, the heat; the devouring silence. Her stripping that leaves no room for what is not most essential. Through exhaustion or confusion, to surrender to her and be moved from that place. The volcano was with me; thick lava pouring out. And so was my bleed, vulnerable and powerful at the same time for her force to be in the room. In the last few years, It wasn’t uncommon I would be in bed riddled with pain when bleeding, or unable to move as there was no energy left in me. Yet on that day, her steady force was anchoring me, and amplifying what and how it was shared. The rawness of the elemental, moves through this body. From that place, the work emerges over and over again.Special thanks to @david___mourato for his spontaneous site-specific sound collaboration and contribution to the work.Photography by @ganeshaisisSpace @baixoartaljezur @the___return___ curated by @cardo.utopica by @yaminalyara

UPDATE; fully booked. Waitlist available The first edition of The Artists Pilgrimage is coming cloooser, and a lot is moving in relationship to it; As our group is almost complete, and filling the last two spaces as we speak. I love the creative process. I love being the midwife to ideas and bringing them into form. It’s not easy. But staying with it every step of the way is so generative, being shaped by the process. Our group for “Through Deserts & Waters” is almost complete, without me sharing much about it here, it came together naturally, private conversations, and steady tending. Being in the preparation, it’s been an experience in of itself; through the people who showed interest, the conversations we had, inspiring and difficult ones, with strangers and loved ones. And in the spirit of what the experience and all of my work is about underneath; a deep current listening; I knew I wanted an intimate group. I also know I want men to participate. So far we have two confirmed amongst all the women and to be absolutely honest, I’d love another man to join us. There is so much I could say about this experience and how it will change us. The desert as an archetype that lives in us, and to meet her directly with the feet on her sands and the heat on our skin. This is my invitation for today, be in touch if this tickles you and we’ll take it from there. An Artists Pilgrimage; 26th of April - 4th of May 2026. Invitation / Application only. Friends send this to your friends. Thank youuu X With so much Love. All images taken from our pilgrimage last year by the one and only@yaqine.raw who will join us again this year by @yaminalyara

Digging in the archives always brings big smiles and an unparalleled reverence for this path and the ones who walk beside us. Shaped in every encounter. We truly wouldn’t be here without the people we share those moments with. Dancing, creating; revealing. Into new forms. Whatever we build is never ours alone. Dance has brought me the most incredible people, close to my heart until this day and inspired worlds beyond wildest imagination. This one is from ‘Tongues Untied’ at @kunstraumlondon in 2022 back in London. UPDATE; fully booked. Waitlist available I’ll be returning to the Sahara for the third year this april; I can truly say these experiences have been altering my reality. My work has grown in dialogue with this landscape, and this pilgrimage arises directly from that place. Elemental research has been at the core of my practice these last 6 years; the desert has appeared as yet another teacher, one whose ways are precise and relentless. The desert has taught me about stripping things back to what is essential; Through silence, vastness and confrontation. Through humility and grace. The body recalibrates and the senses sharpen. An artists pilgrimage, for me is an unlearning of linearity. To recognize the path, the process as inherently creative, with its thresholds, uncertainties and undeniable joys. It asks for a slowing of time, to trust in a process that unfolds, to embrace the unknown and to keep walking.26 April – 4 May, 2026Through Deserts & Waters; An Artists Pilgrimage through the Sahara, where we walk for 7 days, sleeping in the sands and dancing with the stars, with guides who have walked these lands all their lives. this will be a very intimate and invite / application only group due to the nature of this gathering. If you would like to consider joining us; be in touch for more infos. with so much Love Images by @yaqine.raw from our pilgrimage last year by @yaminalyara

From the belly; in her darkness, towards the light that comes from there. This body knows something else; a different way that power actually works. A place where the wild spectrum is allowed to breathe. An invitation to descend first; into the womb, into the dark, fertile ground where life emerges from. The overculture; modern world has taught us a distorted story about power; domination, control, conquest. Yet, power gestates. The egg chooses the sperm. Honey is made in the darkness. The mother gives birth; gives birth to everything we know and touch. An intelligence older than fear. Everything the dominant culture seduces us to believe about power is inverted. Power requires presence; the courage to stay. To bear witness; to let beauty penetrate you so deeply that you are changed by it.When distractions fall away and noise is cut, something else becomes available; something of essence. A presence that requires a precise listening, to let creative energy move; sexual energy; life force, it's all in the body, the elements, and the paradox of being alive. Let ourselves feeeeel the paradox; to meet reality without collapsing or grasping. To be with the uncomfortable; and make love to it. The willingness to be vulnerable, to not know. If anything lately in my personal world; the conversations I’m having; in my practice, and in my work; we are all asked to meet the paradox more directly, more courageously, and truly more skillfully. It is skill, it is practice, it is alchemy To continue to refine the why for everything we do; whilst appreciating what wants to be served in the now.on that note; and as my one / one work will soon take a different shape, I will be opening the rest of this month and all of february for individual; sliding scale drop in sessions alongside the possibility of the longer term container. A doorway for those who need it right now.I began facilitating in this way six years ago, and I’m simply anchoring back into the joy and passion of sharing this practice; the presence sharpens as we continue. 🔗 through the link in my bio, you find all the details and infos you might need; 🔗with so much love.
