May IS my favorite month of the year and I’m so so so happy that I was able to spend it doing the things I love — going to concerts, exploring new cities, attending big cultural and professional events, working out and just generally chilling!!! by @yanasybiga

The happiest birthday of the last 3 years! On the actual day of my birth we had a little breakfast at Pret, walked to our Pilates class in a chic studio, had a great workout (although I did get a strain in my groin lollll), went to a cool indie bookstore and got a book I’m really excited to read, got some fresh juice and enjoyed the sun on a day when it was supposed to rain!!! Then I spent some time trying to get myself a gift, didn’t like anything in Chelsea but still had a great time! Then my friend Veronika came and made my day with the hilarious balloons & headband, then I went back home, changed for dinner and had an amazing meal at a Japanese restaurant. Then we unpacked all of our snacksss and had a blast watching Harry Potter part 6 and fell asleep at like 10:30pm. Literally a perfect day. taken in London, England by @yanasybiga

I haven’t celebrated my birthday properly in the last few years so I figured going all out for my 30th was the only way to go.. so happy I got to celebrate entering my new decade with my closest friends (short of a few people who couldn’t come).

We got a beautiful villa and two cars and tried some amazing restaurants in the area, hiked along the Costa Brava coastline, played cards, watched „Eat Pray Love” (a classic for girls in their transition periods), visited the Dali museum and just had a great time getting to know each other more. My friends are truly amazing and I’m so proud of them and myself for all our achievements thus far.

Wowowowow I’m turning 30 today!!!

I have a complicated relationship with birthdays, specifically aging. It’s tough to accept the reality that your time to achieve and experience everything you want to is limited. Like, what do you mean I already lived through my twenties?… It does feel like you now have to wrap your head around the idea of aging, since it was called “growing up” before you turned 25.

Aging/maturing/growing up/getting older — accepting it is hard, especially for us girls. Biological clocks, settling with partners, working on our finances, first health issues, parents ageing, friends getting married — finally seeing life for what it is. A hard, beautiful, complicated, confusing journey.

For my new decade I want to make a commitment to take my dreams and ambitions more seriously than anything. I want to stop underestimating myself and finally etch it into my brain that I am able to achieve absolutely anything. I want to have deeper relationships with people — no surface level bullshit. I want to connect. I want to feel cherished :) I am ready to open my heart to the world and I hope it responds with kindness. I want to live my next decade with no regrets and no time wasted on bullshit. When I turn 40, I want to be absolutely satisfied with the effort I put into building my dream life.

My 2016 😁

- the view from my first paid job in NYC (and I also had my own desk hooray :))
- helicopter ride over NYC as a bday gift for my sister
- my room back in Boston
- my parents’ dog
- me and sis 🤍
- Boston, where I went to college
- somehow I had better style 10 years ago???
- fun fact: I went to driving school in the US with a bunch of 15 year olds 😂😭
- first trip to Azerbaijan & to the village where my mom’s side of the family is from
- first soccer match ever, Italian championship
- Paris with mom for a few weeks — we went to a French language school and just explored the city
- my hideous blonde — I’m so happy I went back to my natural color……
- more French — I took it as a minor in college (which I regret — such a pointless choice and I barely ever use it)
