Mom's writing this caption...

Olivia has never been to Israel and has only had to mourn without the chance to celebrate the brightness and light that is Israel. As we sit on a bus to Jerusalem, I write this with happy tears as I watch her take in every moment with excitement.

We are both so grateful to be on this journey together.

Am yisrael chai!! šŸ‡®šŸ‡±

@thekosherking and I had the distinct pleasure of joining @leajbloom and @goodpeoplegreatcauses to hear @ambassadorfriedman speak at the @friendsofjnfcanada Breakfast for Israel last week.

It was especially meaningful as I was about to embark on my first journey to Israel since 2019.

The morning ended with a beautiful d'var Torah: Hashem has given us our instructions—we simply need to follow them.

I hope we can continue to work together as a community as we face whatever unfolds.

"Have faith not fear..."

Words said one morning during shachrit between a Rabbi and a congregant were so meaningful that an entire evening of impact was born.

Rabbi Mendel Kaplan @rabbimendelkaplan and Daniel Warner @dan_warner18 are two community members who recognized that many people are feeling the same thing: it's time to address a world where antisemitism and antizionism have become acceptable in dangerous ways.

Last night wasn't just another meeting of the minds or a task force to discuss and plan. It was time to cut the sh*t and move into a place where we shift our focus from fear to action.

The energy in the room was edgy and the willingness to show up and do things differently was palpable. This was not a night for more discussion. It was a call to action.

But perhaps the most important message wasn't about looking outward. It was about looking inward.

We need to remember who we are and what that means.

Rabbi Kaplan said two things last night that I will repeat to anyone who will listen because they defined what's in my heart: Lean into your Judaism and DO NOT flee!

Remember who you are and why you're here. Be proud and stand tall. Be the best version of your Jewish self you can be and don't shy away from that for anyone or anything.

You don't need to be Orthodox. You don't need to do it all. But you need to do it as best as you can.

Your soul is here for that, and your life will look completely different if you can find the joy that comes from being Jewish.

Have faith. Not fear.

Watching Olivia grow through @vibedanceandfitness has been such a gift.

Over the years, we've watched her grow in confidence, skill, independence, and friendships, surrounded by an incredible community of strong, smart women who genuinely care about the kids they teach and mentor.

Beyond the dancing, it's the community that stands out. The Vibe team has created a space where kids can learn, challenge themselves, build confidence, and develop a real sense of belonging.

It takes a village, and we're grateful that Vibe is part of ours.

Congratulations to all of the dancers, teachers, and families on a beautiful recital weekend. šŸ’œ

This post isn't to show off.

It's to show you what you're capable of.

You feel depleted.

You tell yourself that if you could just have one day to think, you'd feel better.

You dream about a vacation, but there's no time.
No money.
No opportunity.

So you continue.

You chase the calls.
The pickups.
The shopping.
The cleaning.

You're never finished because there is no finish line.

And somewhere along the way, survival mode starts to feel normal.

So hear me:

You can stop.

You can take a day.

You can get in your car and drive somewhere you've always wanted to go.

You can sit by a lake.
Walk through a town.
Drink a coffee by yourself.

Nothing bad is going to happen.

The world will keep turning.

The people around you will survive.

And when you come back, you'll remember something important:

You still exist outside of your responsibilities.

You are not only the person who carries everything.

Take. The. Day.

Not because you've earned it.

Because you need it and that's what self care really looks like.

Yesterday I attended @missoliviajacobs year-end party at Hebrew school.

The Rabbi spoke about antisemitism and the importance of supporting our children in their Jewish pride and, honestly, I had a moment. One of those moments where the weight of everything just lands all at once and the tears come before you can stop them.

Raising Jewish children right now is hard. We don’t always have the answers ourselves, and the questions keep coming. Sometimes it feels easier to retreat than to face what we’re up against. But our children need us and they need a message that tells them to stand tall, rooted in as much Jewish pride as they can carry.

I wiped my tears, gave myself a moment, and walked back into a room filled with light. Smiling faces. Proud moments. Community. And something clicked for me.

Have you ever convinced someone not to hate you? Probably not.

Antisemitism is real. We see it. We hear it. We feel it. We need to continue speaking up about it. But yesterday reminded me that we also have to protect the joy. We have to lean into each other, strengthen our communities, and encourage our children to bask in the beauty of who they are and what we’ve built together.

That is the light. taken in Toronto, Ontario by @yanekah

There’s a different kind of energy in rooms built by women who know how to bring people together.

This event was such a beautiful reminder that food is never just food - it’s memory, culture, storytelling, hospitality, connection, and care all happening at the same time.

Grateful to have been part of an evening alongside @ruhamasfood @awilderparty and @canadianyoungjudaea that felt warm, vibrant, and genuinely special from beginning to end.

So much work goes into creating experiences like this behind the scenes, and watching it all come to life in a room full of women, families, conversation, and community was really meaningful to me. ā¤ļø

Laughter isn’t just a release - it’s medicine.

I wasn’t fully ready to go out, but I knew I wanted to be in this room so I showed up to @thegoldaclub Vent at @comedybarto - it was worth every laugh.

An epic night of real women living real lives.
Business, partners, kids, health - all of it. Truth, turned into something we could actually laugh at.

It was powerful to sit in a room where everyone just gets it - and even better, to laugh about it together.

That’s not just a night out.
That’s perspective. That’s energy. That’s healing.

Huge respect to every woman who got up there cause that takes real nerve!

And to the winners @lifestyledbylisa and @segaljoanna - so well deserved. You killed it!!!

I always say "laugh every day" this gave me enough to laugh about for a week!! 😘

At some point, you stop looking around for answers and you decide to trust yourself.

You realize - you can handle what’s in front of you.

Recovery isn’t a moment. It’s an interruption.
It forces you to stop.
To recalibrate.
To see things clearly.

Clarity doesn’t come from having everything figured out -
it comes from being present enough to actually receive what’s there.

Over the past few years, people have shown up for me in a real way.
Not performative. Not convenient. Real.
Through the good, the bad, and the ugly.

And that changed something.

You learn to show up for yourself too.
You realize you were never doing this alone.
You held your own hand, so you had the strength to be held by others.

ā€œYou got thisā€ becomes something you operate from.

You don’t need to control everything — you can’t.
You just need to trust that you can move through it.

Whatever ā€œitā€ is…

YOU GOT THIS.

Right after my surgery, we got a care package from @vibetwwinzz and it was honestly exactly what we needed.

@vibedanceandfitness sweatshirts, things to keep me occupied while I was recovering, and Passover camp for Olivia. But more than that - they called to check in, asked if there was anything else we needed, and really showed up.

Childcare during a holiday week when kids are off school…?? that’s a big deal!

People know Vibe, but what they might not realize is how much Marni and Rena actually show up behind the scenes. This wasn’t a "send a package and move on" kind of thing. This is just who they are.

If you’ve been thinking about it for your kids, just go try a class. You’ll get it pretty quickly.
Marni, Rena - thank you. From both of us šŸ¤šŸ©·šŸ¤ taken in Toronto, Ontario by @yanekah

Recovering well and posting on delay šŸ˜„

Saw @savageandshe the week before surgery and I'm still smiling.

Unreal synergy. Next-level talent.
Funny how the right night shows up right before something big.

And the company made it. A girls’ night done properly. taken in Toronto Event Centre by @yanekah

Being cared for by a team of exceptional women is something I don’t take lightly.

Today, I was at Mount Sinai Hospital for a minor surgical procedure. In every interaction I felt presence, capability, and calm. Women - incredible doctors and nurses - fully in their zone - steady, focused, and quietly powerful.

I’m sharing this because life isn’t always the polished, pretty version we see. And that’s okay. What you need has a way of arriving in the right time, in the right hands.

This year, I’ve been rethinking what it means to lean in.

Not pushing harder.
Not holding everything.
Not proving anything.

Leaning into support.
Leaning into stillness.
Leaning into being taken care of.
Leaning into recognizing what I need.

With Passover approaching, the symbolism lands differently. We lean to mark freedom but this year, it feels like a conscious shift.

Exiting survival mode changes your perspective.
It opens space for a different kind of strength that's rooted in trust, not force.

This year, leaning feels freeing in a new way.

Grateful for the women holding that space for me today and all the women out there who truly have my back 😘

And to my husband Sid and the kick ass anesthetist, Andre — thank you for showing up with the same steadiness and care. It doesn’t go unnoticed.
