POSTS STORIES REELS

When the Dark Lotus appears, the balance of the world begins to crumble…
Yet even in darkness, a thread of hope remains.

After three tainted trials, the darkness has taken over.
Doubt takes root.
And the Lotus turns…🥀

⏳ 36 hours remaining.
Enter Trial of Lotus, and decide how the story ends.💜 by @yangtian_li

It’s been a while! I’m so excited to finally share my personal project, Trial of Lotus, a social deduction board game I’ve been working on for the past year.

Meet Jade Lotus, the guardian of the world, the seer and protector. 🪷✨

Over the years I’ve played a lot of social deduction games, and I wanted to make one that brings together everything I love: Chinese mythology, Art Nouveau aesthetics, and the kind of tactile physical world-building that only a board game can bring 🫶

The Kickstarter launches this April. I’ll be sharing more characters and behind-the-scenes between now and then.

Looks like tarot in Chinese Myths.
Plays like Avalon meets Werewolf.

I had a blast showing Trial of Lotus at @lightboxexpo in Pasadena this past weekend! I also got to create this huge mural featuring Lightbox’s lovely Lumins with Jade Lotus. Such an honor, and so cool to see my art this big on the wall of Pasadena convention center! 💖🥰 thanks to @jimdemonakos @digitalbobert @kei_acedera for the wonderful opportunity 💖

My favorite part was seeing people’s eyes light up when they realized Trial of Lotus was a board game. I’ve poured so much into this game, and seeing hundreds of people get excited in front of me just made me really happy. Those little moments meant a lot to me.

Thank you to the Lightbox team for such a wonderful event, and to everyone, both old and new friends, who stopped by my booth! So happy I got to share this with you all! 💖

Special shout out to my assistant @junew0919, who is also a wonderful character concept artist. And to @artbywu for the connection/guidance, you are a great teacher! 😆💖 by @yangtian_li

Day 1 complete at Lightbox today!

Tabling at Lightbox #800

Come say hi Saturday and Sunday! by @yangtian_li

So excited to be at @lightboxexpo soon!

This year, I was honored to be invited to create a mural for the exhibition hall. I thought it would be so cute to have the LBX Lumins enter the world of Trial of Lotus!

I can’t wait to see it in person! I’ll also be bringing 10 limited-edition prints of this piece, each signed and numbered.

How does Trial of Lotus play?

Last days on Kickstarter!
Deluxe and Heirloom editions are exclusive to this Kickstarter. by @yangtian_li

Death is pure. Death is welcome. Death is graceful.

While the Black Fox and the shadows fought to taint the forest, they were still clinging to the pulse of life. But for Manjusaka, life is merely a noise.

Behind the veil of chaos, the Master of Death was never seeking power.

What he wanted is merely the absolute purity of Death. Graceful, silent, and inevitable. They were all just pawns in a masterpiece of stillness.

The final days are upon us. Witness the true end of the world in Trial of Lotus before the campaign concludes. 🥀 by @yangtian_li
