11 months of Atlas (1 week late) which means we’re somehow 3 weeks from having a 1 year old 🤯.

This month he mastered so many new skills so I suppose that’s what all the horrid sleep was for. He was busy perfecting his crawling, learning to pull up, walk while pushing something, grab on to things and make his way around the house. He’s waving, clapping, babbling, and making the silliest faces. And he got his first little hair trim from Mimi.

His favorite times of day continue to be anytime we’re outside or anytime food is involved. I’m thankful for a good eater but don’t think I’ll miss the screaming at us when it’s not coming fast enough. He is into absolutely everything at the moment and you cannot turn your head for one second with this one or else he’s somehow digging through the trash can 🫠.

He had a pretty rough winter sickness for a couple weeks which lined up perfectly with Mimi and Poppi’s visit but at least he got to benefit from all the extra cuddles and love. He loved all the special time so much that he could’ve cared less we were gone for a week.

He’s growing so fast and we can’t wait to celebrate his first year of life so soon 🥹. by @yanicsmall

10 months of the smiliest, snuggliest little man. This month brought all the development so basically zero sleep 😵‍💫. Atlas finally started crawling forward and then decided to add pulling up to stand to the mix just a few days later. He started intentionally waving and got his second tooth.

He loves moving all around the house and getting into absolutely everything. His curiosity knows no bounds. Pulling up on anything he can, toy balls, the vacuum, the tv remote, and any cords he can find are his current favorites. 9 months of Atlas!

This month brought lots of festive fun and is there anything better than babies in sweaters and beanies - I think not! We went on our first winter trip as a family of 4. He has definitely entered the nonstop moving phase on plane rides but did well nonetheless and was a trooper at being bundled and dragged around Prague to all the Christmas markets.

We enjoyed a visit and early Christmas celebration with Mimi and he absolutely loved all the undivided attention and snuggles. He continues to love food to the point where we can no longer eat in his presence unless he is partaking. He even growls at me while I drink my morning coffee 😬. He cut his first bottom tooth and is working on number 2. He can crawl backwards any distance but still working on figuring out forward motion. He also survived his first stomach bug which took out our whole house and does not make the highlight reel.

It was so fun getting to introduce him to all things Christmas from the markets, to decorating our tree, to the tió, to getting all dressed up for the Christmas Eve service, and lounging in Christmas pjs all day on Christmas.

He continues to have intense fomo and doesn’t like to sleep for long stretches so my Christmas wish of more sleep has yet to be answered but maybe one day 🥲. taken in Barcelona, Spain by @yanicsmall

One of our favorite yearly traditions is a family wintery trip. One where we need to break out the big coats and the Uniqlo base layers that we use approximately once a year. Even better if we get to explore Christmas markets and get some snow. We missed the snow by a day this year but we still loved getting to explore Prague at Christmas time. taken in Prague, Czech Republic by @yanicsmall

Rich because this was our cozy Saturday at home ❤️

Every now and again the image you had in your head does actually match reality. I live for a festive day of Christmas decorating. Requirements are fireplace on the TV, John Legend’s Christmas album in the background, a warm festive drink simmering on the stovetop both to make the house smell good and to sip on while decorating, and holiday cheer.

It’s admittedly harder to achieve these things with young kids who don’t quite get my vision 😂 but they were all in on it this year and it was absolute bliss for me.

Atlas Ezra Small made his debut early on March 26 at 11:36pm. His birth turned out differently than we planned but was beautiful in its own way and we are oh so thankful for the extra weeks of newborn snuggles.

Knowing how fast it all goes, I’m trying to freeze time and bottle it all up. To say I’m obsessed is an understatement. Welcome to the world, little guy. We are oh so thankful that you are ours 🤍 taken in Barcelona, Spain by @yanicsmall

My baby is 2 today. From her fearlessness and independence that she gets from her mom, to the low attention span she gets from me, it's been a joy raising this kid. We're extremely fortunate to be where we are and it crushes me that there are tiny humans that don't get to experience a peaceful, stable life because of the egos and spite of grown men. Children really are the future and they deserve so much more than the world we're currently leaving them. taken in Barcelona, Spain by @yanicsmall
