It’s not always a smooth sail running a biz ~ but what makes the highs and lows all worth it, are the people who come along on the ride ~ 🤍✨ by @yarakamal
Trying to lean into more JOMO - Joy of missing out 🧡 we don’t have to be everywhere all at once. What kind of quality time do you spend with yourself? And when you have a moment alone, do you feel like you need to fill the void or do you soak in the present moment? Most of us don’t even notice the distance we have created with our own self. The world needs more people coming alive. Grateful for my mat being a second home to just be and to fill my cup 〰️on my @scoriaworld mat✨ by @yarakamal
When burnout becomes chronic and you feel like you’re just stuck in this box… Part of this hits heavy for me because the nature of my personality would always feel like it’s in a box if I’m on a pre-made expected society path rather than a path I’m creating. And it feels like I now made my own box and sitting in it 🌱 I’m sharing with you all because I’m dreaming that maybe if I write and express, it will leave my body and it will become lighter. I went from creating my business and working on it since 2015, with a purpose of building a brand that inspires others to get out of their day to day to be inspired by children’s imaginations as a tool for wellness on their mats- mats that feel like a second home to flow, be inspired, and be vulnerable on. I wanted for people to see that they can be themselves and that we can all create, not just be what society wants us to be unless it’s what we truly want. And now about a decade later I just feel like what I set out to do is backfiring on me ~ I just miss the simplicity and the crazy ideas I would create and the fire I had for art, joy and purpose. When I was in grade 4 my art teacher signed me up for an art competition. At the awards ceremony, I cried because I thought I was left out (I was a sensitive kid who just wanted to be included). They called out every single participant’s name except for mine. After 10 minutes they announce I won first place. I never thought my art or way I think would actually be understood, but I guess they loved the extremely dark green home that I coloured, and the so non-green front lawn. But as a child I just wanted to be included and fit in, so growing up I did embrace it. For years my body has not happy doing numbers, meetings, KPIs, processes and putting out fires, I just want to create, someone drop me in a forest for a year with no technology and a paint brush😭 Right now I’m just venting and writing, it feels like it is part of my journey to talk about this, and I want to be more real to you all on what it’s like behind running a business, especially for a creative person who didn’t intentionally choose the business side of it💚 by @yarakamal

There is nothing wrong with wanting to share pieces of our lives with someone else. And to love deeply. But there is something more important: to be at peace knowing who you are rather than being with anyone who is not aligned on your path Misalignment can sometimes be the most expensive price you will ever pay, and to be in alignment with who you are and true to your soul it may mean your path is not a conventional one- if you just mute the noise of how others are living, you will see how happiness and expansion flow so fast when you’re listening from within. You, in your spirit and your body, will always remain home. You will live within yourself for this entire life. So maybe there is something beautiful about learning to fully reside there; in your spirit and body. To be present in yourself. To know yourself. & here they are, the mornings alone in the kitchen with music and where life feels so full The right people should never require you to trade any of that ✨ by @yarakamal
Many of us forget life is already happening 🌗✨🌞 waiting for joy to come from external circumstances is like waiting for honey to be made without any bees. Or like waiting to ride a bike that has no wheels. You make your days, stop waiting… for summer, for sunshine, for a relationship, for retirement, for life to happen, it’s already happening ✨ by @yarakamal
