POSTS STORIES REELS

1. Black–Scholes (1973)
A closed-form model to price options using volatility, time, and interest rates.
This single framework unlocked the modern derivatives market and still powers trillions in trading today.

2. Market Efficiency - Eugene Fama (1970)
Markets reflect all available information, making consistent outperformance extremely difficult.
This shaped passive investing and the rise of index funds.

3. Modern Portfolio Theory - Harry Markowitz (1952)
Return isn’t everything, risk matters.
Diversification across uncorrelated assets can optimize returns for a given level of risk.

4. CAPM - William Sharpe
Expected returns are driven by systematic risk (beta), not individual asset noise.
A foundational model for pricing assets and calculating cost of capital.

5. Arbitrage Pricing Theory - Stephen Ross (1976)
Returns are influenced by multiple macro factors, not just market risk.
This expanded finance into multi-factor investing strategies.

6. Agency Theory - Jensen & Meckling (1976)
Managers and shareholders don’t always have aligned incentives.
This explains inefficiencies in corporate decision-making and executive compensation.

7. Limits to Arbitrage - Shleifer & Vishny (1997)
Markets don’t always correct themselves.
Even rational traders face constraints, allowing mispricings to persist, especially during crises.

Most people consume finance at the surface.
Very few understand what it’s built on.

That gap is everything.

Coaching institutes are scamming you by selling financial modelling courses & promising you it’ll land you an IB job.

Here’s the truth: financial modelling is barely 5% of what we actually do.

The other 95%? They can’t teach it, because they’ve never been on this side of the table. I have.

So let me explain you the 6 documents we actually build on a live deal in the order they happen:

1. Pitch Deck - when a company wants to raise money, it doesn’t just pick one bank. Several banks compete and pitch for the deal - we literally call it a “beauty parade.” The pitch deck is how we show the company we understand their business best and are the right bank to handle their raise.

2. Teaser - once we win the mandate for a private company fundraise, we send investors a short, no-name document that tests early interest in the deal. Just enough to make them lean in, without revealing who the company is.

3. Information Memorandum (IM) - after an interested investor signs an NDA, we send this: a 70–80 page deep-dive on the company. Customers, risks, growth plans, projections - everything they need to make a decision.

4. Financial Model - the famous 5%. Current financials, future projections, how’s the next 5 years of the business look like: revenue, costs, & exactly how the money raised will be used.

5. Comp Sheet - how we figure out what the company is worth, by comparing it against similar listed companies. The number behind the headline.

6. Roadshow Presentation - before an IPO goes public, this is how we pitch the company to the big investors and gauge how much demand is really out there.

Finally, the rankings are out 🚨

Top 5 high finance certifications, ranked by two people who actually work in the high finance industry. And no, CFA isn’t number 1.

First, let’s clear one thing up. NISM, FMVA and courses like these are great for learning, but nobody gets hired in high finance on the basis of them alone. Treat them as skill builders, not your entry ticket.

5. CMA US is solid if you want costing or FP&A roles, but it won’t move the needle for IB, PE or VC.

4. FRM makes sense for risk, treasury and credit roles. A great niche, just not the front-end deal seat.

3. ACCA is the global version of Indian CA. It opens Big 4 deal advisory and finance roles in GCCs, but for high finance it still can’t replace CA.

2. CFA is gold tier for buy-side roles like asset management, equity research and PE, a little less relevant for IB. Our honest take... if you’re competing on the basis of CFA, finish all three levels, otherwise don’t start at all.

1. CA, and it isn’t even close. Rank holder? Nobody beats you. Not a rank holder? It’s still the most powerful certification if you’re aiming for high finance.

One last thing. Certifications get you the call, conviction gets you the offer. Pick the one that matches the seat you want and pair it with one real project.

🚀Let us know in the comment section what do you want us to rank next?

₹80 lakh a year. At 21. Straight out of college. 🤯

Everyone wants into high finance, but almost nobody actually knows the difference between the two biggest seats in the game, IB and PE.

So here’s the real breakdown: the hours, the work, how hard each is to get into, and exactly what you earn at the very first rung. 👆

And here’s the part most people miss: almost every one of these firms is hiring for one post or another, right now. You just need to know who they are.

I’ve put together the full list, every major IB and PE firm in India, sorted tier by tier, bulge bracket to boutique.

Want it? Follow me and DM me this reel, and I’ll send the whole list across. 📩

DM me this reel and I’ll send you my exact 21-day challenge, the full timetable and every resource from this video in your DMs.

Most people trying to break into high finance spend months watching content and still go blank when an interviewer says “pitch me a company”. This is the daily system I’d hand them, five hours a day outside college or office, built to make you read like an analyst and build like one.

Mornings are for depth: pick one sector and go deep on its news, recent DRHPs, the top three players’ investor presentations and concall transcripts. Then build a thesis report, a sector research report and a DCF on one company from that sector, because reading makes you aware but building makes you dangerous. Close the morning with one solid newspaper, Mint or ET, and skip the headlines for the editorial page.

Evenings are for reading whatever pulls you in, from The Ken and Finshots to Substack, Morning Brew or any book, and the last hour goes to journaling what you learnt and posting one idea from it on LinkedIn, Substack or Instagram.

21 din yeh karke dekho. Agar farak na dikhe, toh mera naam badal dena.

For the ones who are serious about breaking into high finance, I run an exclusive insider masterclass on how CVs actually get shortlisted, the hidden opportunities nobody talks about, how referrals really happen and the exact interview playbook. Registration link in bio.

Comment anything on this reel to get the full framework - the exact method to build your own answer to “why investment banking”, and the same one works for PE and VC.

Most people answer this by describing the job. Intersection of finance and strategy, steep learning curve, CXO exposure. It sounds good, and it gets rejected, because four hundred people said the same thing that week.

The fix is simple. Pick one function of the job. Attach it to one thing you have actually lived through.

Mine was fundraising for my own startup. Yours will be something completely different, and that is exactly the point.

If somebody else can give your answer, it was never yours.

Comment anything on this reel and we’ll send the complete guide to you.

Jio Platforms is finally heading to the public markets.

The IPO opens on 21st October and closes on 23rd October, with a price band of ₹1,065–₹1,119 per share.

At that range, the post-issue market capitalisation works out to roughly ₹9.8–10.3 lakh crore.

The issue is a fresh issue of 27 crore shares, with Reliance expected to retain around 64.4% ownership post issue.

A large transaction, a large operating base, and an important capital-markets event to watch.

“Asset-light is not a business model. Asset-heavy isn’t either. The only business model that matters is the return on capital.”

This line really stood out to me while I was watching a recent episode of The Indian Silicon Valley Podcast with Vasant Sridhar, co-founder of @ofbusiness.official

Most finance students are taught that asset-light is automatically the better business. That’s the wrong way to evaluate a company. The real question isn’t how many assets a company owns, it’s how much return it generates on the capital it uses.

An asset-light company can scale fast, but if the economics are weak, speed alone doesn’t make it a great business. An asset-heavy company can put serious money into plants and machinery and still earn strong returns year after year.

OfBusiness is that philosophy in action. The differentiator isn’t how little capital a business uses, it’s how intelligently it deploys it.

So the next time you analyse a company, don’t ask whether it’s asset-light. Ask how efficiently it converts capital into returns.
