Hala Madrid!...y nada más 🫶🏽

Pro tip: Go make friends at your hostel’s sangria making class. You’ll end up having the best time in the best clubs in the world, shopping at Primark, eating cheap tapas, churros, and lots of Honest Greens, getting taught how to read maps because one friend’s phone got stolen (RIP), hiding Sangria in parks, and making wishes in the wish making shop. taken in Madrid, Spain by @yashwenees

Gosh, what a year it’s been! I was just looking through all my pictures from my old phone, wondering which ones to pick for this compilation and only then I realised what a completely wonderful 26th year of life I’ve had (I know that’s technically not true but if we’re arguing technicalities, could you deduct 2 years off on account for Covid? 😆).

All my dreams came true and I feel like I received a decade of experience just in the last year. I’ve done things I couldn’t have ever imagined, met people who inspire me, and gone further than my wildest dreams in a direction I didn’t expect. ➡️

Truth be told, I was successful, by all conventional standards. I had the great job, own nice things, and climbed up the corporate ladder a little earlier than most. But with that speed, came that dread. It wasn’t the kind of burnout you’d expect, there was no big breakdown. It’s just that I absolutely HATE when anyone or anything even attempt to take the life out of my eyes. Many of you often compliment me on my inviting energy and ability to encourage anyone to achieve what they set out to do. You might have heard me ask you, “What’s your big dream? Nothing is crazy to me, I want to hear it”. As time went on, especially in the last job, I kept thinking to myself about how ironic it was for me to own a platform that encourages women to set out for their wildest dreams and true, good connections when I wasn’t feeling any passion for what I was doing.

Amidst all that stress, I had a few health scares that jolted me out of the average life I had been living in for the past year. I decided very quickly that I couldn’t keep living like that. I had a financial goal, hit it, then quit my job. I had an itch to see the world that I simply couldn’t deny. Everyone thought I was crazy for doing it.

One thing about me, I take the words “You’re crazy” as a really good indication that I’m headed the right way.

Taking it easy in Eze.

This was easily one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. I didn’t expect a quaint, medieval town on top of a hill when I went to Southern France. Despite the hundreds of other tourists who also took the bus driven by someone who might be auditioning for Fast and Furious, there were so many private pockets of space where you could soak in all that charm and shy away from the sweltering sun. What you think is a glow is actually me just being perpetually sweaty here 🤣.

Eze is a town where Nietzsche would often ponder and pull inspiration from, it’s not hard to see why. I’d love to come back here someday, preferably with the same company but that’s probably not realistic. Such is life ❤️ taken in Èze Village, Côte D'azur by @yashwenees

Parisian grub. You know I travel to eat.

I love my truffle but I didn’t enjoy that single egg yolk in there.

Woke up very early and dragged my new friends to the market so I could eat fresh seafood

One lucky ducky.

Also dragged a friend I met in the Versailles gardens to eat here. We timed it perfectly to we could watch the eclipse right after lunch

This was divineeee and I’ve never had this much meat in my life. A regular person would have had a heart attack.

Truffle again of course. Best burgers of my life. I order another round.

Looks good, tasted meh.

Pistachio overload. I can’t think of pistachios now without feeling like gagging a little.

Morning after pizzas. I do love a good burrata and the sodas were refreshing with the lack of AC in the country.
