📍Jakhu Temple, Shimla

Nestled amidst the lush deodar forests of Shimla, the legendary Jakhoo Temple is steeped in a captivating tale from the Hindu epic, the Ramayana.

According to mythology, while searching for the life-restoring Sanjeevani herb to save Lakshmana, Lord Hanuman paused on this very hill to seek guidance from Sage Yaaku. Legend says the weight of his landing flattened the hill, while his footprints remained as a divine mark of his visit. Though Hanuman promised to return, he took another route back to Lanka due to the urgency of his mission.

Today, the hill is crowned by a magnificent 108-foot-tall statue of Lord Hanuman, overlooking Shimla and its breathtaking valleys — a sacred place where mythology, faith, and the beauty of the Himalayas come together.

Tag your Dost 👬
.
Friendship is the only relationship in this world that is built purely on selflessness, where hearts connect without expectations and people stay not because they have to, but because they want to.
Friends are the real diamonds.

Swipe ➡️
