Meet Yaya! I’m an LA native passionate about the city and everything that happens in it. I've lived in DTLA and Chinatown for 3 years, I got to see another side of the city that I normally don’t see. Individuals from all walks of life, working hard and building a sense of community that’s refreshing and inviting. People greeting each other, shopping at local vendors—that’s what I cherish most. As a DJ with a weekly Sunday residency at The Association called The Rendezvous, I get to connect with people from all backgrounds wanting to enjoy themselves in a fun and inclusive environment—without the pretentious feeling the Westside can bring. The name fits perfectly: a meeting spot where people come as they are, enjoy great music and some of DTLA’s best cocktails, in a space that feels safe and welcoming.🍴 Grand Central Market – My favorite places to eat, since I love food and trying new spots. Go-tos are La Tostaderia, Valeria’s, Sarita’s Pupuseria, and Roast To Go—the beef cheek tacos!🏙 Somewhere Special @Stiledtla – This was the old Ace Hotel (shout out Leah). I DJ’d here with my brother and mentor Briggs, at a Fri residency called The Deep End. One of the best rooftops in DTLA—by day you can sit by the pool and grab food, and at night take in the lights of the city.🎨 Sincerely Yours – A gorgeous space with amazing art where you can sit for a drink. At night it turns into a vibe, Earry Hall curates the music and brings great energy.🖼 Arts District – My wife and I love coming here. Walk around and find something on every block to eat, drink, or shop. Our favorites are Yunomi Handroll, Prince St. Pizza, and if you’re lucky enough to snag a resy, dinner at Bavel or Girl & The Goat.🍸 Zaya – A sexy, moody spot perfect for date night. Good food, drinks, and live music. Wed are extra special with Dirty Dell curating R&B and slow jams. Above Zaya is Seven Grand, a whiskey bar where you can enjoy great spirits and even a cigar💬 DTLA Tip: If you’re not from the city, just go out and see for yourself what DTLA has to offer.
