📍link in bio, to subscribe if interested! slash share with people u think would be too. instead of talking my sisters’ ears off with things i discover, i’ll be writing here 😂 i will keep it kinda fun. it will show up in ur email inbox. the first one, soon, will be about how spiritual practice is an antithesis to *gulp* consumption. i will be dragging myself, too! by @yazagain
last project of the month 🪡🖤 sheer drop-waist dress with asymmetric skirt tiers, full bishop sleeves. inspired by @simonemingming’s ss20 collection that had a sheer panelled dress with asymmetric tiers, the blue and white porcelain-like layers.. dreamy! genius! under the sheer embroidered layers here i used a gorgeous white organza for an underskirt lining. nailing the skirt was tricky so im proud of this one! voiceover: @rickowensonline (we hear u king we hear u) #sew #fashion #fashiondesign #diy by @yazagain

tiffffff the szn 💐 ur resident cinephile came, saw and.. saw more. am i too old to sustain energy across 10 days, what is it.. what is my plight.. clarissa was gorgeous, one of my fav of the festival. contemporary retelling of virginia woolf’s mrs. dalloway, in nigeria. over two time periods we follow the inner lives of friends as they examine their shared pasts, a poetic examination of youth and adulthood. beautiful cinematography, soooo lush and atmospheric. a fabulous cast! cheers 830 am xx saw tender loving care and went home. saltburn, canadian film about a group of young people living in st james town apartment on a day the power goes out. they try to stay cool and pass the time, wrestling with qs around growing up, what it means to stay or leave behind. intimate, funny! real! 🥰 lmaoooo tiff opening party plus one of course i was overfamiliar and acted like it was my house ur mother x3 was a wild ride 😭 insane callbacks to scenes from the kingsman and one battle after another, still pondering my thoughts around themes of faith, hope, hypocrisy ran into old friends, fought people and also met lovely new ones! balance, duality 💫 movie break xx maker pizza and my earl grey matcha from @faridasfix, nothing better still night, burning house - my fav doc of the festival, a canadian doc exploring the circumstances of an uncles death through memory, interviews, records and excavation through the family’s travels to vietnam. about mental health, grief, displacement.. a v brave and generous film by carol nguyen who shared her family’s story. trying to rally energy. ended the fest w/club kid, predictable but a lovely watch took this photo w mike leigh in the back, after i spotted him outside the theatre. i let him know how much hard truths meant to *us*, for our mothers and aunts on screen, black women everywhere 😭 one of my favorite directors. i cried after. tentative ratings? i think i’ll acc give everytime a 3.5.. until next time 🫡 by @yazagain
