Casual Chess is back at Control for another Sunday evening around the boards. From 19:00, come by for a game, pick your opponent, and settle in for a relaxed night of chess. As always, all levels are welcome, regardless of age or gender.

From 20:00 until 02:00, the chess boards will be accompanied by two special DJ sets from friends Ycs and Matei.

Ycs @ycs______ brings a carefully selected mix that moves through electronic sounds with a strong sense of rhythm, keeping things fluid as the evening unfolds.

Matei @mateiardeleanu_ takes over later, bringing his own groovey take on the dancefloor and carrying the night deeper into the early hours.

For this edition, we’re happy to welcome Ana Băescu @anambaescu a visual artist and chess enthusiast, as our invited artist. Her presence brings a bold perspective to the meeting point between chess and contemporary visual culture.

Chess first, music after, or both at once. ♟️

𓆩𝙁𝙇𝙀𝙓𝙊𝙍𝙄𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉𓆪

From the realm of 𝔩𝔬𝔰 𝔯𝔢𝔭𝔯𝔬𝔟𝔞𝔟𝔩𝔢𝔰 we rise for this anomalous event where you’ll get to witness the beautifully corrupted performance of 𝑶𝒓𝒌𝒈𝒐𝒕𝒊𝒌 - finalist of season 5 Boulet Brother’s Dragula, together with the salient presence of 𝒔𝒖𝒔/𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒏, the outlandish poise of 𝑱𝒖𝒅𝒂𝒔 and 𝑻𝒐𝒊𝒃𝒐𝒚’s hosting tricks. We’ll be moving our vessels all night to the underworldly music of 𝑨𝒅𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒂 and 𝒀𝑪𝑺.

𝟘𝟜.𝟘𝟡.𝟚𝟘𝟚𝟞
𝟚𝟛:𝟘𝟘
𝔹𝕖𝕣𝕝𝕚𝕟 ℝ𝕠𝕠𝕞

𝑶𝒓𝒌𝒈𝒐𝒕𝒊𝒌 is a self-described Latin American monster and experimental researcher whose practice explores the concept of “new flesh.” His work seeks to provoke transformative, shapeshifting experiences while centering the human heart as a core symbol of identity and representation.

𝑱𝒖𝒅𝒂𝒔 is an entityx impossible to contain, avoid, explain or predict. He strips down, strips the public down, until there is nothing left on the stage but flesh throbbing to the sharp beat of the night.

𝒔𝒖𝒔/𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒏 embodied from laments, from deep and loud mourning. Fluid as the tears, they take human and more than human shapes, kind and uncanny.

𝑨𝒅𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒂 is a DJ, producer, visual artist, and activist for inclusivity in electronic music. A SHAPE+ artist and resident on France’s LYL Radio, they host the show URZICA 3000 and co-founded Corp., supporting female and non-binary artists, and Arp148, a radio space for sapphic and trans creators.

𝒀𝑪𝑺 is a Bucharest based DJ who explores the cultural aspects of music in relation to new club styles, performance and club politics. She draws from Ballroom experience to shape her approach to the dancefloor.

𝑻𝒐𝒊𝒃𝒐𝒚 is an urban seraph and private dancer who knows that his masculinity must be bent, deconstructed and used in service of his communities.

Tensed Patience for Better Times w/ YCS | Arp148 [16.07.26]

Tensed Patience for Better Times is another entry in YCS’s ongoing mix series. A selection of clarity and chaos. She moves through new club sounds and leans into the spaces she rarely gets to fill elsewhere.

YCS is a Bucharest based DJ who explores the cultural aspects of music in relation to new club styles, performance and club politics. Haunting bouncy beats are central to her sound, alongside the latin club spectrum. She draws from Ballroom experience to shape her approach to the dancefloor. Her sets twist textures, bouncing between dembow and layered breaks, serving dark, pulsing flows. Over the years, YCS has played at key underground venues and parties, carving out spaces and maintaining a deep care for the dancefloor.

Tensed Patience for Better Times comes from a state of mind she’s been in lately. It reflects her overall thoughts on the gaps around her and the wider context shaping her identity. Ep. 2 is a meSsiEr one with less patience, more bass, breaks rolling into reggaeton, fine club tunes and a few nasty moments exploring tensed, sexy and melancolic sounds.
