Gotta keep the body guessing what workout its doing each day.

Also, clean up after yourself.
Motivated enough to lift, you can wipe down a machine and mop your body fluid up too.
Think of it as extra cals burnt and steps completed. taken in ARC Fitness Australia by @yeahimshore

Do you relate to this?

It's hard not to see things, people and places for what they are when you've experienced many different types of hell, and survived them all.

Now all I want is peace, beautiful friends who lift each other up, no BS and a quiet place to chill. Not too much to ask for. taken in Darwin, Northern Territory by @yeahimshore

It has been a month since my last deadlift session.

I feel like the work I have been doing on strength and mobility has given me a boost in so many aspects of my training. Feel so strong and confident after this lift

I just got the 200kg last time, but I am cgoing heavier next lift. 💪🏼

Imagine chasing the best version of yourself with the same energy you chase the next new thing.

Don’t get me wrong—I like the toys, the upgrades and the things we work hard to earn. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying them.

But eventually, the excitement fades and the next upgrade appears.

Working on yourself is different.

Learning something new.
Doing things that challenge you.
Exploring who you are beyond the roles you’ve played.
Strengthening your body.
Calming your mind.
Facing the parts of yourself you’ve avoided.
Finding something meaningful—and perhaps using it to help someone else.

That kind of growth doesn’t just add something to your life.

It changes the person living it.

The newest thing might make life feel better for a moment.

Becoming someone you’re genuinely proud of can change the way you experience everything.

Buy the things. Enjoy the rewards.

Just don’t become so busy upgrading your life that you forget to upgrade the person living it.

Honestly.

Mobility isn’t just stretching. These workouts are hard work. Theres no escaping the fact that I haven't done these basically ever!

It helps your joints move freely,
improves the positions you can train in
and makes everyday movement feel easier.

Because being strong is great…

But putting your socks on
without needing a warm-up
is pretty useful too.

At 45, mobility isn’t optional.
It’s maintenance and it feels damn good! taken in ARC Fitness Australia by @yeahimshore

Honestly, the real work has been what I’m building internally.

My body is only half the story.

Yes, it’s a product of discipline, focus and consistency. But what nobody sees is the work I can’t show you.

The internal work that’s slowly shifting me into a new version of myself.

That work has been harder than any workout, long run or recovery session I’ve ever pushed through.

I haven’t met that version of myself yet. I don’t completely know what he looks like—but I know I’m moving towards him.

It has meant letting go of the things that no longer align with where I’m going.

Sitting up late with my own thoughts.

Not having a close circle of people to lean on.

Learning how to connect with God, the universe and something deeper within myself.

Learning to sit with who I am instead of escaping from it.

Doing so much of this alone has probably been the hardest thing I’ve ever done.

But I know it’s worth it.

Because the stronger and more grounded I become, the more I’ll have to give—and the better I’ll be able to serve others who are trying to find their own way forward.

The body is what you can see.

The real transformation is happening underneath it. 💪🏼 by @yeahimshore
