ever since I switched from my kindle to kobo in March I think the most asked question I get is ‘is kobo plus worth it?’

*for me and my reading journey*: yes it has been! this post isn’t to sway you one way or the other but really just to show you the small percentage of what’s available on kobo plus #bookstagram #kobo #bookrecs #bookrecommendations #booktok by @yearntoread

what I read in september & what I rated them: in my Tessa Dare-a .𖥔 ݁ ˖

Back in my historical romance bag once again (& I will never not be tbh). Have heard so many great things about Tessa Dare & I’m so glad I finally gave her a go! Definitely one of my new favorite authors. I don’t have a review for every single one of these bc I tore through them but just know I had a great reading month!!
#bookstagram #readingwrapup #monthlyreads #booktok #historicalromance

I’m so glad I chose this to be my first Tessa Dare book because oh my god it was freaking delightful.

A lot of historical romances try and operate within the restrictiveness of the period the story takes place in. A Night to Surrender instead chooses to subvert any and every thing about regency England and completely turn it on its head. I absolutely adored the concept of Susanna operating Spindle Cove as a safe haven for girls not accepted by society (& by impart not protected by it, either). She might be one of my favorite FMCs I’ve read in a historical romance, and I love Bram as her counterpart. He loves how stubborn and strong willed she is & is horrified by the prospect of someone ever wanting to change that about her. He’s strong and protective in a healthy way and an emotional, tender hearted man. Everything about this book was perfect for me.

I almost would go as far as to say this is the book I would recommend to people who want to start reading historical romances, but I fear it would ruin everything else for them

this has to be one of the best romance stories I have read period oh my god oh my god oh my god. this exceeded all of my expectations and is one of the most tender hearted, touching books I’ve read in such a long time. Tessa Dare you will always be famous to me 😭

if you want a regency au Frank Castle and Peter Parker duo you must read this book by @yearntoread

the gothic romance of twilight — my new substack essay is now live .𖥔 ݁ ˖

this was purely inspired by my reread of the twilight saga by Stephenie Meyer last year. it has sat with me for quite some time and now I finally put the words to paper. this is just an excerpt, but super proud of how the whole essay turned out and I would love if you read it 🥲
