I can’t believe I’m even writing this. My baby passed away far sooner than I ever expected.

I got Mojo when he was 4, during a really tumultuous time in my 20s and looking back, I think we found each other exactly when we were supposed to. I needed him more than I even knew. He was so much more than a pet. He was my best friend, my therapist, my joy, my shadow - and truly everyone’s favorite cat.

He had so many names: MojoJojo, Mr. Mans, Mojarian, Moo Moo, Stinky, Mojito.

He was never not in my lap, perched on the windowsill, or snoozing in a patch of sun. The second you sat down, he’d be on your chest, pawing at your face until he got his scratches. He insisted on love, and gave it right back tenfold.

It breaks me thinking about not having his comforting cuddles when I’m sad, not hearing his tiny paws padding down the hall during zoomies, or feeling him make biscuits on my stomach. He filled every corner of my life with warmth.

I’ll miss his scrumptious toe beans, his little missing teeth that gave him the sweetest mischievous smile, his tiny mustache, and the fluffiest belly. I’ll miss talking to him like he understood every word, because honestly, he did. In so many ways, he carried me through so many seasons of my life. He was my steady, constant love through it all.

Kidney disease is cruel. Losing your soul cat is even crueler.
