Not the cheapest thing I own. Definitely not the easiest either.

Between random electrical issues, parts that cost more than they should, and a bill every time I think I'm finally done... this car tests me. But then you get an evening like this when the golden hour hits and it all makes sense again.

Nothing drives like it. Nothing sounds like it. 20+ years old and still turning heads.

Worth every headache 🌅

First car, and it's somehow given me more than I bargained for.

Didn't expect buying an E39 to turn into a whole friend group, but random meetups turned into night drives turned into actual mates. This chassis attracts the right kind of mad.

Taught myself to fix half of what's gone wrong with it, driven it on trips I'll actually remember, and still not sick of it. Not bad for a first car.

Here's to more of it 💙

Some cars are built to be admired. Others are built to be driven.

Seven E39s covered hundreds of miles through Wales, tackling mountain passes, B-roads and long motorway stretches without hesitation.

They weren’t babied.
They weren’t trailered.
They were driven hard, exactly as BMW intended.

Twenty years on, and they still don’t fail to put a smile on your face every single time.

The cars which brought us tg, never would have thought E39 would make this happen, but the memories and things u learn on the way make it well worth the constant drain 😂😭

We have exciting news coming up, stay tuned for more updates! #e39 #m5 #bmw #ukcarscene #carsofinstagram taken in London, England by @yech.e39
