I’m losing track of the days, and honestly, I’m okay with that since the end is almost here. These past few days have been absolutely epic! The best time in the water yet, playing with all the big boy toys and soaking up the marine life!
In no chronological order, Ripley and I SWAM WITH A FUCKING SHARK!!!! We’re pretty sure it was a lemon shark, and she was so majestic, beautiful, and intense! I nicknamed her “Lemon Meringue” since she was so sweet, just doing laps around the reef and minding her own business. We saw her about five times, once as close as 30ish feet below us! We also spotted a stingray, turtle, and another octopus around same area!
One of the biggest highlights was catching my first “massive” fish during a passage, a 15-20 lb tuna which definitely put up a fight! The process of gutting and fileting it was a new experience, leading to the freshest tuna dinner imaginable.
The gear was just as thrilling. The paddle board and wing had incredible pulling power, and the foiling board was a total rush. Gliding over the water and taking flight before jumping off for safety purposes provided a massive adrenaline boost!!

After a 251 nautical mile marathon and 40 hours at sea, including my first ever solo night shift we finally made landfall in the incredible Luperón, DR.
We’ve anchored every night of this journey so far, but while waiting for our third crew member, we decided to trade the hook for a dock. Going “bougie” for a week was the ultimate luxury, providing some much needed downtime.
While the amenities were great, it was the people who truly defined this stop. Bonding with fellow sailors, the dock crew, and the local restaurant staff turned a simple pit stop into an unforgettable experience. This town has a genuine, warm soul that makes you feel at home the moment you tie up. Onto the Bahamas we go⛵️🤙🏼 taken in Luperón, Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic by @yeeedurbdoesit

Day 3: Isla Caja de Muertos🏝️
Today was a total soul recharge. We spent the day hiking the terrain, exploring abandoned buildings that tell a story of both history and the raw power of nature, and trekking up to breathtaking, peaceful views from the summit.
The rest of the day was spent in the water, and honestly, I snorkeled until my jaw nearly locked up! The crystal clear turquoise water was beyond EPIC. I just missed a stingray (I’m slow, and it was too fast lol), but the highlight was definitely spotting an octopus tucked inside a conch shell. Between the vibrant reef life, the colorful coral, and a sea urchin that surprised me and pricked my finger, it was a day for the books.

Day 1: The journey kicked off from the co-pilot’s seat of a tiny six-seater plane into Culebra, an incredible way to start the trip. Once I reached the boat, it was clear that photos don’t do it justice. I spent the afternoon getting my hands dirty: dropping my first anchor, mastering the clove hitch, and learning the essential terminology of the ship. We wrapped up the first successful day with a steak and salad dinner on deck.
Day 2: We pulled anchor at 6:00 AM, catching a killer sunrise with a breakfast of oatmeal and sausage. The wildlife showed up early, I spotted two sea turtles while I was at the helm. I got to captain the boat for two hour-long stints during our ten-hour trek. The highlight was killing the motor and running on pure sail at 6-8 knots, the silence of the wind and water is on another level. We’re now anchored at Isla Caja de Muertos to explore the island for a few days🤘🏼🤙🏼 by @yeeedurbdoesit

“Home is where the anchor drops.” This is the mantra I’ll be living by for the next 3-4 weeks. In less than 24 hours, I’ll be embarking on the adventure of a lifetime sailing from Culebra, PR to George Town, Bahamas. I’m ready for everything the open water has to offer: the lessons it will teach, the peace and raw emotions it will provide, and the wild beauty it so effortlessly flaunts. It’s been a while y’all, life has most definitely been busy and not boring to say the least! Moving and purchasing our first home in colorful CO with Sarah my lady has been an absolute journey with all kinds of new exploring, friends, eating, disc golf, mountains, concerts, and definitely personal growth that never stops. This past year you have pushed yourself in so many different aspects between trusting me and moving states, starting AND crushing your jewelry business, adjusting to life without family and friends close by and so much more. There’s 2 things about this beanie, it’s HANDS DOWN the best quality beanie I’ve ever owned & it was also hand made by my cousin Remy! This all wool hand stitched deep dish thickness doesn’t compare to the now old favorite Patagonia beanie ha, got myself a new backpacking beanie🤘🏼.
