Are you going to tell me what I want to hear?
Whisper sweet things in my ear?
Oh, please don’t
Oh, please don’t

When you’re calling out to me
Why won’t you shout?

happy equinox & happy release day to brainrot.

it’s about trying to stay sane in an insane world

half of it is vaguely hopeful, and the other half is neurotic and deranged- kind of a perfect fit for when day equals night

anyway, i hope you enjoy

The tinkly glasses are living their best lives.

Early this year, I cold-DM’d Michael and asked if he’d be interested in producing ‘flesh.’, after hearing his work on the latest @romanjoonmusic album.

Fast forward to spring and Michael raiding his kitchen cupboards to create the perfect tinkly glass/bell sounds for the intro of the track.

Fittingly for the coastal studio location, ‘flesh.’ has turned out to be oceanic - intimate yet expansive, rippling with longing and a borderline ASMR-y treasure trove of exquisite textures to tickle the ears and soul.

A huge thank you to @michaelbakermusic for his unrelentingly imaginative, thoughtful and patient approach to producing and mixing this slightly strange track.

Thanks also to the legendary @sekinue whose playfully disguised harp also makes an appearance among the rich tapestry of sounds, and to @amsterdam_mastering for the gorgeous master.

‘flesh.’ is out on August 28th and I can’t wait to share it in full.
