Thank You, Bus Driver - Lipsync assignment for university

Spending her days only knowing the world inside her owner’s home, Anne, a pampered black cat, has longed to explore the bustling city of London that she has heard so much about. With the help of her dearest dog neighbour, James, they go undercover into the city, figuring out how to adapt to human behaviours and etiquette as they navigate the outside world.

Working through the entire process of creating this animation has been a challenging but very fulfilling and enjoyable experience! Through this elective, I learned a lot about the processes and elements of character design, character acting, lipsyncing, animatics, roughs, applying the principles of animation, clean ups, colouring, background design, compositions, and compositing! This was my first time being introduced to softwares like Toon Boom Harmony and After Effects, which took some time to get used to but I’m hoping to get more comfortable with using them going forward. The advice and feedback I received from lecturers and peers throughout the elective also played a huge part in improving this animation and making it what it is now!
I am overall quite pleased with this outcome and would love to work on more projects and exercises like this in the future! :]

BIG BIIIG thank you to the wonderful voices of these characters who made this animation such a delight to work on!! 💖💖:
Anne Softpaws: @freely.dc / @_eriiza_
Fluffy James: @louis.gentle0

Animation completed in Toon Boom Harmony, background elements drawn in Procreate, composited in After Effects

Jaya animatic wip [SPOILER WARNING (up to Skybound)]
Song: blue - yung kai

The first half of this animatic I planned over a year ago, thought I’d post this part since I don’t know how long it’ll take me to finish the rest (I made a storyboard for this entire song covering a bunch of jaya moments throughout the show ahaaa ;-;)
This has been sitting in my drafts for months but I do hope I can finish it eventually!!! I adore this song and thought it fit them really well! My beloved yearning blue ninja lovers uhuhuuu 💙🩵

pov you were invited to the investigators’ study to discuss some business matters..

COLLAB WITH POOKIEHEAD @odabbi_ !!!
one of our collab ideas finally made it out of the chat 🎉🎉 featuring our ocs, Archimedes (mine on the left) and Hugo (juned’s on the right), who both take on vague detective/investigator roles and look like they would go shopping for trinkets and clothes together 🫶
