Today was a big day for the gym. @cjz117 got us started at MTAAC in May being the first one from the Muay Thai program to get an official fight and today @muhedsrana @joantbaer @kingofblackhearts @zuber.v12 @eduardo._zc and @deadreceptors all took part in their first competition. Congrats to @zuber.v12 for getting us our first win as a gym. It’s good to get that monkey off our back. Shoutout to @goldilexi who didn’t get to compete today because no one signed up for her division. She put the work in and was ready to go this weekend. Thank you @up2nathaniel and @jm_suave for cornering the team today. Thank you to everyone who has been supporting what we’re doing at the gym. It means a lot to us 💯🙏🏿 by @yemironin

Took part in the WKA mma light contact nationals today. Didn’t get the win, but I got experience that will be valuable as I work to get in the cage. Thanks for everyone who has been supporting and pushing me. The journey isn’t over by @yemironin

Today we said goodbye to @t.nguyen.98 . Saying goodbye to people will take getting used to. Saying goodbye to T is especially hard because he’s the first member of the fellowship to move on. When I started in Dec 2024 T was one of the first people I met at 2nd Gear. A group of us have trained together for over a year, and he’s the first of that group to move on. He’s been a great friend and teammate. He played a huge role in the development of many of the members at the gym. You don’t meet a lot of genuinely good people in the world, but T is one of them. I’m thankful that our paths crossed and I’m grateful to build a friendship with you. This is not goodbye. It’s I’ll see you later 💯. God speed my friend. You will be missed by @yemironin

I’m so proud of @cjz117 for how he fought last night. He fought hard but we came up short. Thank you for trusting me with your first official fight brother. You took a chance with someone with no experience cornering. That means a lot to me. This one hurts but we’re going back to the drawing board to figure out what we have to do to get the win next time. Thank you @eduardo._zc for cornering with me. You’ve been at the gym since the Muay Thai program first started and been with Carlos throughout his entire camp, so if anyone deserved to be in the corner for @2ndgearbjj first official fight it’s you. Thank you as always @kogendojo_muaythai for giving us the opportunity to do something special. I hope this will be the beginning of bigger and betters things to come. Thank you to @groundcontrol.owings.mills for being a model gym and example. I could not have asked for a better gym to have our first official fight against- literally. Look forward to working with you all more moving forward. Thank you everyone who has supported and believed. I did not feel worthy going into this position and I’m still working hard to prove to myself that I belong. I hope one day that will be the case. #muaythai #2ndgearbjj #grindszn by @yemironin

One of the greatest parts of this experience is getting to connect others with the people who’ve been the biggest influence on my martial arts journey. @tbiz158 has been a great support throughout the years and I’m happy the students at @2ndgearbjj get to work with him 🙌🏿💯🙏🏿💪🏿 #muaythai by @yemironin

It’s an amazing sport and so much fun once you get over that first hump of fear. Don’t get filtered out! Come fight!
