This could have easily been a play on words but did you know IYAM —- is a word! —— Means Leash. I did not make this up . But tell me why African stores have not put a leash on this price gouging situation. The other day I went to an African store around me and I presumptuously took a tuber of Yam,surely life in Canada can’t be too hard not to afford a tuber… till the guy at the checkout signalled to me to ask if I was sure I wanted to buy it— then he said 42 cad. 42 CAD as in Fourtyyyytwo???

I was wrong. Wrong . Wrong. Dead wrong!

Tilll————one day I walked into @pattyafoods and I found I could buy 2 tubers for 16 cad. Like, WYM, I can still nurse the dream on having twins after all🫣. It felt like the scales had fallen off my eyes. I’m really not here to debate. I just wanna know how much is yam at your end. taken in Brampton, Ontario by @yemmie______

This was how @temifaps took sister ope back to the 80s… hmmm … let’s just say my over 35 body had an epiphany …. Maybe a bit too late cos a time was had.

Learnt a Funfact— Oute does not exist as a single word in French- but what do I know?

As the children grow older, the realities hit at different times and they come at random times as their minds grasp the concept of being without a father. It’s heartbreaking for me personally when I get “out of the blues questions” like: “did daddy light your fire? “” or Where was daddy buried and even more. It makes me realize I didn’t have their reality. I had a father and I will never be able to relate to their pain. What I can do though is present their father in the best possible way... look for the silver lining and never take our situation too seriously.

So we make jokes, have heart to heart without being too heavy.,. We dance, we sing .., laugh more , hug more… have a wicked sense of humour courtesy of me😅😅🫣—remain childlike and hope that they are learning to appreciate life and the gift of NOW... we have right now is good, and I’m grateful. by @yemmie______
