🌈 🌈🌈 젠더·퀴어 담론에 비해 BIPoC라는 용어는 한국 사회에서 아직 비교적 생소하게 사용되는 개념입니다. I feel a bit silly writing a personal statement - who even am I? But pausing something I’ve dedicated almost half my life to is life changing (quite literally in fact). Also: this is my Instagram account so why am I stressing?!? I also felt it necessary and obligatory to voice some of the very real struggles that have accompanied these many years as I am certainly not the only once wrestling with the complexities of working within spaces for and built by struggling communities. I truly hope that @yeoja_mag becomes reincarnated into something even new and hopeful. It’s with ends that we make space for something new. 🥀 taken in Berlin, Germany by @yeoja_mag

Korea Verband e.V. is a Berlin-based nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering understanding, dialogue, and cooperation between Germany, Korea, and the global community. Since its founding in 1990, it has worked tirelessly to promote social justice, cultural exchange, and human rights, particularly in relation to Korean history, politics, and diaspora issues. One of its most well-known initiatives is the installation and defense of the Peace Statue, known as Ari, which stands as a powerful symbol of justice for the victims of wartime sexual violence.

The Peace Statue Ari is located at Bremer Str. 41, 10551 Berlin. In a conversation with four activists from Korea Verband, Youngsook, Nataly, Ngân and Jana, they shared their insights on the significance of the Peace Statue, the ongoing struggle for its recognition, and the broader implications of their activism. VOLUME 8: Perreo and Pelvic Practices In this workshop we will get in touch with the pelvis through different pelvic dances like perreo and twerk. The pelvis is the base of the body and being in touch with it connects us to the joy and creativity that lies in it. It’s gonna be a medium intensity workshop for all levels. Bring comfy clothes and water!  This workshop is part of our PASS IT ON series, a workshop series that focuses on making skills accessible to the community free of charge — with a focus on making space for those who are often unfairly de-prioritized by institutions — as a form of YEOJA’s equitable giving back to the community.
