This past Saturday, our girls stepped into the world of aviation with a hands on visit to the CR Smith American Airlines Museum for Aviation Day. Creating real world exposure is at the heart of our mission, and giving them the chance to see, touch, and imagine their future careers is something we’re proud to provide.

A huge thank you to NetJets Pilot Hannah and American Airlines Captain Litke for spending the day with us. Your guidance and encouragement opened our girls’ eyes to what aviation careers, especially becoming a pilot are truly like. Access matter, and you made that possible.

🎥:To @ksjarmon our content creator/videographer basically our visual guru 🤭 Thank you for capturing the day so beautifully. Your work helps us tell the story.

Views from outside at Career Day ☀️

In life I think it’s very important not only to tell kids what’s possible but show them.
And in this instance, that meant two things:
1.Anything is possible (yes running in heels)
2.Never back down😂

While we were outside waiting for some firefighter fun one student told me he forgot to tell me he’s going to run track too. Of course I was super excited and told him I used to run track. For some reason he didn’t really believe me and asked to race. The answer was YES!

Volunteer with YesHer,

YesHer is gearing up for our September 26th Wellness Restart, and we’re looking for women in our community to spend a short hour pouring into the girls of YesHer! 💚

At YesHer, we work to remove limitations created by a lack of awareness and exposure. When you volunteer with us, you give our girls direct access to women in professional career fields—expanding their knowledge of what careers exist, allowing them to ask questions, and helping them see pathways they may have never considered. Saying YES to volunteering with us gives HER a bigger belief in what’s possible for tomorrow.

For our September event, we’re looking for a fitness instructor, registered dietitian/nutritionist, and therapist/counselor. If you work in one of these specialties and are interested in volunteering on September 26th, please complete our volunteer interest form. 💚

Thank you so much @allanahbrenae for asking me to to attend Career Day ! I had so much fun talking to all the students about not only being a flight attendant but former NFL cheerleader, nonprofit owner, and competing in pageants. ✈️📣💚👑

Loved hearing about what it is the students want to be when they get older. Plus it was so good to know many of them have a long list of things they will do like me🤭. There’s no limitations in life so always go out and try it all. I even got to meet some future flight attendants, pilots, and pageant girls 🥹.

We’re back with episode two of the series, and joining us today is Marketing Director Amber Garrison.

During this series, we’re sitting down with Black women in different career professions throughout Black History Month to gain more insight into what they do, their journeys, their challenges, conversations on legacy, and more, all in an effort to bring greater awareness and highlight the many different career and professional pathways that exist.

This conversation was so good, we had to split it into two parts so make sure to follow, share, and stay connected with us.

We’re kicking off Black History Month by centering the voices, journeys, and impact of women across different career fields.

This series is about visibility, access, and possibility- real conversations with women who are building, leading, creating, and redefining what success can look like.

Because awareness creates vision… and vision creates opportunity. ✨

Let’s celebrate legacy and the future we’re building. 🤎 by @yesherinc

Our final visit of the year was spent with the Tice Tiger Girls in Houston, Texas. 💙Coach Reed invited me to speak with the team about public perception and how to conduct ourselves in public as they prepared to attend The Nutcracker.

We had so much fun- not only discussing public do’s and don’ts, but also putting our acting skills to the test through live scenarios. The girls fully stepped into character and took the activity to the next level, truly bringing the experience to life.

Afterward, they shared how they would “Show Up Like a Star,” which they did beautifully the very next day at the performance. And of course, I couldn’t leave without seeing them perform. I also had the pleasure of making a surprise visit to join them at The Nutcracker, and I can confidently say they implemented everything we discussed.🤗

Thank you so much to the Tiger Girls and Coach Reed for having me.💚

YesHer is expanding and doing even more in the new year. If you would like us to visit, please don’t hesitate to reach out at info@yesher.org.
