„Neue Teile für den Körper“ in Aktion: Immer wieder schön, wenn die im Workshop entstandenen tragbaren Zeichnungen zum Leben erwachen. Die Teile werden übrigens unterstützt und gehalten durch die Arbeit „Variable“ aus Holz und Metall von Paula Gehrmann @paula_gehrmann - win-win, würde ich mal sagen.

Kommt vorbei und checkt unsere zeitlose Kollektion mit dem eigenen Körper aus. Alle Teile dürfen vorsichtig berührt und bewegt werden.

Ach ja: Hunde besser zuhause lassen, damit die Teile und auch der Rest der Ausstellung länger leben (ausgenommen unser VIP-Aufbauhund).

Am Wochenende haben wir im KV Leipzig erfolgreich Zeichnungen zum Leben erweckt. Entstanden ist eine schräge Kollektion aus tragbaren Teilen für den ganz besonderen Anlass - aber die Anlässe müssen erst noch erfunden werden, ich bin dran!

Zum Workshop eingeladen waren Teilnehmer:innen der Offenen Kunstwerkstatt unter der Leitung von Paul Ziolkowski. Danke Paul und an alle, die dabei waren! Es war sehr lustig.

Die Ergebnisse meines Workshops „Neue Teile für den Körper“ sind ab sofort in der sehr feinen Ausstellung „Strecke deine Wörter oder Hände langsam aus“ zu sehen. Getragen und gehalten werden sie durch eine mehrteilige Arbeit aus Holz und Metall von @paula_gehrmann - was mich sehr freut. Gutes Match!

Läuft noch bis Anfang Oktober, kommt vorbei! Alle Exponate dürfen berührt werden, oha! Einige sind sogar sehr kuschelig.

A look back at our exhibition ‘It’s a Monster! Part II’ at the RaumArs Gallery in Rauma: it was lovely! A few strange creatures were spotted. And, despite the surprisingly hot summer weather, quite a few visitors turned up too. Fortunately, the gallery has plenty of alternative space in its fantastic garden and the very cool old sauna house.

Schon was vor morgen Abend?

Im Kunstverein Leipzig eröffnet eine sehr schöne Ausstellung von Lisa Dreykluft und Mia Junker, an der ich ab dem 4. September auch beteiligt bin. Kommt vorbei und stretcht eure Sinne! Gerne auch in Sportklamotten. ;)

Der Körper wird zum Bildträger, der Stoff zur Zeichnung im Raum. Schwarze Farbe auf weißem Stoff bildet den Ausgangspunkt. Durch Falten und einfache Nähte entstehen tragbare Objekte, die zweidimensionale Zeichnungen in den Raum überführen. Am Körper getragen werden sie zu skulpturalen Erweiterungen, verändern Silhouetten, beeinflussen Bewegung und eröffnen neue Formen körperlicher Präsenz. Der Workshop bewegt sich zwischen Zeichnung, Skulptur und Performance und lädt dazu ein, den Körper als wandelbare Form neu zu denken und zu fühlen.

Two hats in the forest: if I’d been on my own, I would have seen nothing but piles of stones. But Sammallahdenmäki is a hill with over 30 Bronze Age stone graves, some of which are over 3000 years old and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Luckily, Hanno shared his secret knowledge with us and turned our trip to Lappi into an adventure. If you want to know anything about stones or history, he’s the man to ask – he’s also a board member of the RaumArs Residency. Thanks, Hanno!

And thanks Fang-Yu for the lovely shots!

The next day, we were given a guided tour of Old Rauma, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site – wow.

Here is my poster for our exhibition: Anyone who happens to be in Finland on Saturday and is interested in monsters of all kinds is very welcome!

The exhibition explores the uncanny, the hidden, the fragmented, and the things we’d rather leave in the dark. This is the continuation of an open exhibition series that we began in Greece in 2025.

On display will be a mix of paintings, drawings, videos and objects, and from 12 noon to 2 pm we’ll also be running the ‘Fragments of Myth’ workshop. If the weather’s good, we’ll be in the garden.

Last night we went on a night-time walk through the woods, but we didn’t need to take a torch with us because it’s midsummer! We came across: lots of ancient rocks, lots of old pine trees, seagulls, hares, deer, a fox and even a seal. A good catch, and plenty of material for the upcoming exhibition, which focuses on all sorts of creatures.
The light just before midnight was completely surreal. Orange, copper-gold and deep blue.

Meet some of the animal representatives I came across: Some are alive, others are dead, some are in between, and some need electricity. I’ve also noticed that there are hardly any cats here in Rauma – at least, I haven’t spotted a single (real) one yet. It’s a paradise for birds. I suppose the enemy is back home on the sofa.
