It was an incredeble moment which God created in my life. During 5 weeks we got a lot of lesson about sustainable tourism, hospitality, culture and any others in Australia. Met the expert in tourism industry who gave us any suggestions to develop our projects in East Nusa Tenggara. We were also showing NTT's culture by dancing, singing, telling the uniqes of it. Until now, it was unbelievel chance that I received in my life. Became one of student who got this scholarship by NTT goverment open this opportunity to study aboard.

For years, Katemak Learning Center (KLC) and Katemak Tours (KT) have been communities I have built around tourism, education, community engagement, and creating opportunities for young people.

Today, I am happy to see this journey entering a new stage.

For the first time, KLC and KT, under Katemak Foundation NTT, are welcoming a tourism student for a structured Internship & Professional Development Programme.

This is particularly meaningful to me because the idea of developing an internship programme at Katemak is something I started designing around a year ago. I wanted internship to be more than completing university requirements, filling in a logbook, and receiving a certificate.

I wanted to create a space where students can learn, experience, practise, reflect, contribute, and gradually discover the kind of tourism professional they want to become.

Today, I had our pre-internship meeting with Regina Olivia Dule, a Tourism student from Politeknik Negeri Kupang and the first participant of our programme.

During her journey, Regina will gain integrated learning experiences across KLC and KT, connecting tourism education, community engagement, and real-world tourism practice, while also developing two practical capstone projects as her contribution to Katemak.

This milestone also closely connects with my Master’s dissertation, where I explore professional identity formation and career development among tourism students and its implications for career-oriented tourism education.

It is exciting to see the connection between what I study, what I practise, and what I have been building through Katemak gradually taking shape.

This is our first cohort, and there will certainly be much to learn and improve. But an idea that started about a year ago is finally becoming a reality.

Welcome to the journey, Regina. 🌿

Learn → Experience → Practise → Reflect → Contribute → Lead → Showcase

Bridging Tourism Education, Community and Industry.

Semester 2 at Bournemouth University has been a defining chapter in my MSc journey.
From challenging coursework and academic projects to industry events and new connections, every experience has shaped my growth in hospitality and tourism.

This semester taught me to be more adaptable, confident, and open to opportunities. It wasn’t always easy, but every step brought me closer to the professional I aspire to become.

Grateful for the lessons, the people, and the progress. ⭐️😊

📌 London, 27 March 2026

Me and some of friends (BU Students) were delighted to contribute as a volunteer at the Smart and Regenerative Tourism & Hospitality Competitiveness in the AI Era, an important forum that brought together academics, industry leaders, and policymakers to discuss the future of tourism and hospitality in the Artificial Intelligence era.

As a volunteer in the registration team, I had the opportunity to meet many professionals who I met for the first time during the event. This opportunity was made possible by Professor Dimitrios Buhalis @d.buhalis, who opened the door for us students to get involved directly. Without hesitation, I submitted my CV and signed up. 😁

Throughout the event, we were not only fulfilling our volunteer roles but also actively listening to a series of insightful sessions. The agenda included Smart Destinations in the AI Era by Professor Buhalis, Tourism and Hospitality at a Crossroads and the Power of Collaboration by Dr Hanaa Osman, and Smart and Interconnected London as a Global Tourism Destination by Mr Tony Matharu.

The discussions continued with best-case examples from various experts showcasing how innovative organisations are driving Smart/Agile Hospitality and Tourism in the AI era. We also gained valuable perspectives from Professor Adele Ladkin during the session on Regenerative & Competitive Tourism Destinations and Hospitality. Each session offered rich insights into how technology, agility, and regenerative thinking can shape more competitive and impactful destinations.

In between sessions, we had meaningful conversations with experts and participants. The networking opportunities felt truly tangible an experience that enriched my academic and professional journey in hospitality and tourism.

I am proud to have supported such an inspiring event that fostered collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Thank you! 🙏😇

Proud to share that Group 7 won Second Place in the Branding Pitch Challenge 2026.🥈✨

The Branding Pitch Challenge is an annual competition in which each group is tasked with creating a new hospitality or tourism brand from the ground up including the name, logo, mission and vision, organisational structure, USP, and marketing mix. The challenge requires not only creativity, but also the ability to design a concept that is commercially viable, realistic, and innovative.

This year, we introduced DinFah EcoPark, a regenerative eco destination concept that integrates environmental education, green technology, and immersive nature‑based experiences. The meaning behind this project is central to our team:

🌱 Connecting people with nature through direct, hands‑on experiences
⚡ Communicating sustainability in an interactive and engaging way
🏞️ Empowering local communities through eco‑tourism
🌍 Promoting responsible and regenerative tourism practices

We are especially proud of the exceptional teamwork that shaped this project. Each member contributed their expertise:

🎨 Nora – Poster design
🎬 Amjad – Video production
💡 Lujain & Mohammed – Business concept and brand development
📊 Yessy & Erna – Presentation and Marketing Mix
🌱 Entire team – Logo, mission, and vision development

Our sincere appreciation goes to Dr Charalampos (Babis) Giousmpasoglou for designing this challenge and for providing the space to explore creativity, innovation, and strategic thinking within hospitality branding.

We are proud of our team, and proud of DinFah EcoPark.

On 26 February 2026, I had the opportunity to serve as a volunteer at the BU Tourism & Hospitality Conference and Careers Fair 2026, held at the Bournemouth Highcliff Marriott Hotel.

This year’s theme “Generation Z and the Future of Work in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry” brought together industry leaders, HR directors, academics, and postgraduate students to discuss the evolving landscape of hospitality employment.

“This year’s conference offers a unique platform for students, academics, and industry leaders to connect and debate the critical challenges shaping the sector’s working conditions today and tomorrow.”

I am grateful to witness the dedication of the academic team behind the conference, including:
• Dr. Charalampos (Babis) Giousmpasoglou
• Dr. Hande Turkoglu
• Dr. Quynh Nguyen

Volunteering in this event allowed me to gain firsthand experience in event operations, expand my professional network, and deepen my understanding of the industry I am passionate about. It was a meaningful milestone in my MSc journey at Bournemouth University.

Late post - Business Plan Presentation

On 8 December 2025, our Group 2 successfully presented The Riviera Hotel Business Plan as part of the Hospitality Operations Management unit at Bournemouth University.

Our team brought together five students from three different countries, such as:
 🇮🇩 Indonesia (2)
🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia (2)
🇧🇩 Bangladesh (1).

This diversity made the entire process richer, more dynamic, and full of learning.

I presented three key sections of our plan:
• Marketing, Advertising & Promotion Strategies
• Environmental Sustainability Management
• Additional Facilities & Renovation Plan

Even though this was my second time presenting at an international university, the experience felt completely new. From the teamwork to the cross‑cultural collaboration and the depth of analysis required.

We were honoured to present in front of industry representatives who attended the session, listened to each group, and provided valuable, constructive feedback that helped us see our work from a real‑world perspective.

A special thank you to Dr Charalampos Giousmpasogloufor and Dr Evangelia Marinakou who continuous support, guidance, and encouragement throughout this unit. Every step of this journey has helped us grow academically and professionally.

Proud of our team and grateful for every learning moment along the way.

Latepost - 10 November 2025 — London.
Grateful for the opportunity to attend Passion4Hospitality (P4H), a conference hosted by the Institute of Hospitality that brings together students, educators, practitioners, and industry leaders from across the sector.

The day was filled with meaningful conversations, fresh perspectives, and a powerful reminder that hospitality is — at its core — about people. About creating spaces to learn, to grow, and to open doors for the next generation.

I’m returning with renewed energy, valuable insights, and a deeper commitment to supporting youth development and education, especially for young people in NTT.

Inspired by the learning, the connections, and the purpose that continues to grow.

Latepost - WTM London 2025 (4-6 November 2025)

Back in 2019, I once said to myself,
“One day, I hope I can attend the World Travel Market in London.”

At that time, it was just a simple dream. I didn’t know how or when it would happen. But sometimes, the dreams we whisper quietly are the ones God listens to the most.

In 2025, that dream became reality when I finally had the opportunity to attend World Travel Market London. What made it even more special was that I could join this global event without having to pay for the ticket — a blessing I will never take for granted.

During the event, I had the chance to attend several tourism conferences and discussions, learning about the future of global tourism, sustainability, innovation, and destination development. I also explored many exhibition booths where countries from around the world proudly showcased their tourism, culture, and unique destinations.

One of the moments that made my heart proud was visiting the Indonesia pavilion. Seeing my country represented among global destinations reminded me how rich and beautiful Indonesia is, and how much potential we have to contribute to the world of tourism.

This experience was not just about attending an event, but about learning, connecting, and being inspired by the global tourism community.

My hope for the future is that I can continue contributing to tourism development, especially sustainable tourism, and help bring more positive impact to communities and destinations.

Sometimes a dream takes years to come true. But when it finally does, it reminds us that faith, patience, and perseverance are always worth it.

Grateful for the journey and excited for what lies ahead.

📍 London
Global European Marketplace 2025 – European Tourism Association (ETOA)

I never imagined that this academic journey would one day bring me into an international conference room, listening to conversations shaping the future of global tourism.

From Indonesia, carrying a simple dream to learn and contribute, to attending GEM25 in London — this moment feels like a quiet reminder that every step of faith, perseverance, and hard work truly matters.

One of the most inspiring sessions was “Future-Proofing Tourism: Solving the Digital Skills Challenge” delivered by Professor Dimitrios Buhalis @d.buhalis . Hearing directly from a scholar whose work I have long studied was both humbling and motivating.

And yes — having the opportunity to meet and take a photo with him was a moment I will deeply cherish.

This experience is not only about attending a conference.
It is about growth.
It is about courage.
It is about being prepared to contribute meaningfully to the future of tourism.

One badge.
One opportunity.
One step closer to giving back.
