Hi I'm Jessica from Yeti or Knot Events 👏 If you're wondering "why yeti?", you are not alone. It's the number one question I'm asked after I introduce myself anywhere. And it's a bit of a loaded question, but one that I love answering. ✨ It started with my own wedding. My husband proposed on the roller coaster, Expedition Everest, at Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World. This coaster features a yeti towards the end of the ride, and yes my husband had the real ring in his hand the whole time. 🌈 Wedding planning is important, but that doesn't mean it can't still be fun. My goal is to make the process as enjoyable as possible. I will make dumb jokes and they won't always land, but my goal is for you to spend most of your planning journey smiling and laughing, so I needed a name and brand that matched that. 🎨 I like weird. I believe weird is an indication of passion and connection, which is someone that should be represented in every event. Sometimes weird is unexpected and that's okay. Yetis are also unexpected, especially in the wedding industry but I think they have their place. What. A. Party. Westin + Tim got the best of both worlds with their elopement in the Tetons last month, and their reception party in Denver with friends and family last weekend. Back in August, W+T shared private vows, did a little stargazing, and had some epic adventures (including a few with their dog Indy!) in Grand Teton National Park, which is a sentimental place for them. And then they got to have a big reception to show off their wedding attire, take family photos, do a first dance and parent dances, and party the night away. Because they’d already taken elopement photos, the couple got to spend the whole cocktail hour just mingling with their guests. And then they finished the night with a Taco Bell delivery and glow sticks! Congrats Westin + Tim, and thanks for letting me be a part of your entire wedding journey! It’s truly been the best time getting to know you both, adventuring around the Tetons, and celebrating in Denver. Meet Jessica of @yetiorknot. She has an engineering degree from Cornell and describes herself as having an engineering mind and a creative heart, which is honestly the best description of a good planner we have ever heard. She got into this the way a lot of us did, by planning her own wedding in 2018, getting completely obsessed with finding meaningful ways to tell her and her husband’s story, and then not being able to walk away from the industry afterward. Here is the part we love. She does not do one size fits all. Every Yeti or Knot proposal is built custom for that specific couple and that specific day, which is exactly why she requires a free consultation call before she quotes anything. Nobody gets squeezed into a package built for someone else’s wedding, and nobody pays for services they do not actually need. She also once walked 9.5 miles in a single wedding day and still says she loves every minute of it. That tracks.
