🐾 59 animals in, 50 success stories out!

Last week was a fantastic week if you ask us! We welcomed 59 animals into our care and celebrated 50 happy endings. That's a whole lot of new faces and a whole lot of reasons to celebrate!

But while we're excited about all the new arrivals, we also have plenty of animals who have been waiting patiently for their turn. Some just need a second glance, like Callie! She recently got some fresh new pictures, and doesn't she look beautiful?

Take a moment to check out our currently available animals on our website. Your new best friend might be one you've overlooked! ❤️

Wow, Tucker has had such an amazing life and this is what we hope for with every adoption, that they truly find their forever homes!!! Check out the update below.

This month is Tucker’s 14th birthday. I think it was your system he was in. He was at a foster when we adopted each other. I picked him up on December 23, 2012.

He’s still healthy and happy. Sleeps on my bed every night with me. Getting a little slow and his vision isn’t what it used to be, but we still have fun and play in the yard.

He’s got over 60,000 miles under his belt. He and I have been through 17 states. I’m on my second Subaru Outback. It’s his mini-wini-bago.

Just wanted to share with you that he’s still going pretty strong. He gets his annual vaccinations as well as an annual blood panel like I do to keep track of our numbers.

Pleas share this with the foster who had him.

Thank you and keep up the fight to save these wonderful family members! by @yhsyakima

🎃👻 Halloween Pet Safety Tips! 🐾

Halloween is spooky fun for us, but it can be scary for our furry family members! Keep these tips in mind to help your pets stay safe this Halloween:

🐾 Have a reactive dog? Consider turning off your porch lights and skipping trick-or-treaters at your door to help avoid unnecessary stress and unexpected knocks.

🎭 Costumes can be scary! Masks, unusual outfits, and spooky decorations may frighten pets, so give them a quiet, comfortable place away from the Halloween commotion.

🚪 Keep pets away from the door. With trick-or-treaters coming and going, it's easy for a pet to slip outside unnoticed. Keep them in a secure room or behind a closed door.

🐕 Leash up for potty breaks! Even if your dog usually goes into a fenced yard alone, take them out on a leash so you can keep an eye on them.

🍬 Keep candy out of reach! Chocolate and other Halloween treats can be dangerous for pets, so store goodies where curious noses and paws can't reach them.

Have a spooky, fun, and safe Halloween! 🎃🧡 Let's make sure our four-legged family members enjoy the night safely, too! by @yhsyakima

💔 Not Every Dog Is a Looker... But Every Dog Deserves a Chance.

We know Bully isn't the dog most people stop scrolling for. He's a brown dog with an ambiguous breed mix and a serious face. We even tried getting new pictures, hoping to help people see him differently. But Bully is Bully, and we refuse to give up on him just because he isn't what people consider picture-perfect.

Meet Bully, a 5-year-old, 41-pound Pit mix who has already endured more than any dog should. He was seized by Animal Control due to neglect, suffering from severe ear infections, skin issues, and yeast infections. He's received treatment and is feeling better, but he'll need a family prepared to keep up with his ongoing veterinary care.

Despite his rough past, Bully is a loving, people-oriented boy who adores attention, enjoys walks, and has the softest, velvety ears. He's still learning that the world can be a safe place, and he needs someone willing to give him patience, kindness, and time.

Maybe his pictures won't stop you in your tracks. Maybe he doesn't have the face that gets hundreds of likes. But Bully has a heart that deserves to be loved just as much as any other dog.

After everything he's been through, we aren't giving up on him. We believe someone out there will look past his serious expression and see the sweet boy waiting for his chance.

Please be that person. ❤️

💔 After 13 Years of Love, Chopper Has Lost His Home at 14

Meet Chopper, a 14-year-old Husky mix who never imagined he would be starting over at this stage of his life. After 13 years with his family, his owner moved and couldn't take him along. Now, this sweet senior is left wondering where his family went and why he's suddenly living in a shelter.

At 14, Chopper should be spending his days resting on a soft bed, surrounded by familiar faces and the people he loves. Instead, he's facing a world of unfamiliar sounds, smells, and strangers when all he deserves is comfort and security.

Chopper knows sit, loves treats, and was reportedly potty trained and lived with children and other dogs. His coat needs extra care, too, and he'll need someone patient and gentle as it recovers.

Thirteen years is a lifetime of loyalty. Chopper gave his family so many years of companionship, and now he needs someone willing to give him a safe place to spend whatever time he has left.

Please don't let this sweet old boy spend his final years waiting in a shelter. He deserves a soft place to land, a loving hand to rest his head in, and a family who will make sure he never has to start over again. 💔 by @yhsyakima

These adorable dogs are all available to adopt today. We hope they won’t be available long and can’t wait for them to find loving homes. #subarulovespets

Can we get 200 people to donate $25? Help Prevent Unwanted Litters!

Dogs like Valkyrie come to us all the time after clearly having litter after litter. Affordable spay and neuter services are essential to preventing unwanted litters and reducing the number of animals entering shelters.

Our $99 Spay and Neuter Program helps local families access this lifesaving care, but we need your help to keep it going!

With the support of Tree Top, our True Companion, we're raising $5,000 to support affordable spay and neuter services. Our goal is 200 people donating just $25 each!

We need YOU to make this happen! Please donate $25, share this post, and help us create a healthier, more humane community for pets and their families.

Every dollar counts!
