🚨 Free Game Friday 🚨 . Another drill of proper technique for the pulling vs pushing motion while punching. The hips rotate, do not push or rise. Rotate the shoulder to force the pulling motion into your other hip. The verbiage of “turn your hands over” entices the mind to do so immediately and thus flares the elbow taking your body weight off of the shot. Your elbow should always be in line with your hips when striking for proper rotation. If you wear 4 oz gloves and you’re not hurting people when you hit them, that’s on you, not them!! #mma #boxing #punching #mechanics #fundamentals #jab #rotate #itsallinthehips taken in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania by @yinzer_boxing

#Free #game #friday “Why do the pushing when the donkey will do the pulling”?!

Punching mechanics are in the smallest details. Pull through the target, not push at it. Do not step/stomp while rotating. Drag the ball of your foot by using your hips to rotate. This is the difference between a KO and scored shot. If you are wearing 4 ounce gloves and not hurting people when you hit them. It’s you, not them. 😉👊💪 #mma #punch #mechanics #its #all #in #the #hips taken in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania by @yinzer_boxing

Often the analogy is used that building a fighter is like building a home. In that sense; the jab is the front door, without it, company walks right through the front door. Take notice how @karli_jo_mma adjusts her position (one step at a time) as I position myself to enter through the “side doors” always forcing company to have to come through the front door with a greeting 🤝 🏠 🚪 #position #jab #mma #boxing #homedesigners #striking #foundation #defensewinschampionships

#Freegamefriday 🚨 Volume up🚨”You could teach Japanese to a monkey, you just have to find a way to relate to the material.” Proper punching mechanics are in the details. Being able to explain why/how someone does something and why/how to correct it goes a very long way in expediting the learning the curve. #wrestling #boxing #mma #transition #teaching #coaching #articulate #striking #punching taken in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania by @yinzer_boxing

Free Game Friday!! Here is @i_liv_mma working on turning her hands over when she punches. A simple but extremely effective drill. Hold two dumbbells on the ends with majority of the weight toward the center. Throw your punches and let the dumbbells do the work. Fighters!! These are drills you can do alone! Technique is the difference between landing a shot and moving into another fight sequence or getting a highlight reel KO. If you wear 4 oz gloves and aren’t hurting people when you hit them it’s because of poor mechanics. Period. It’s a game of inches!! #free #game #friday #technique #fundamentals #punching #coaching #teaching #notselling taken in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania by @yinzer_boxing
