Earlier this fall, I got a message from my theater teacher in middle school. She asked me if I could choreograph for her current program! I graciously accepted the job. I worked with the Akins Journey Theatre on their production of “The Addams Family”. The director for this show Hoag & the students were very lovely to work with. Here are some small clips of my work! The students put on such a wonderful show and I am very proud of everyone who was involved. ❤️

Fun fact: this show was exactly 3 years apart from my BFA concert in college ✨

On Saturday I felt like I was being called by TXST for a mental reset so I went to campus & sat by the pond near the theater building. I thought about the dancer I was at 18 vs the dancer I am today, I cried my eyes out thinking about my dreams, & most importantly I got up to dance.

Look at this dancer go! Rachel is a member of the Glenn HS Gems. She challenged herself to master a new skill & landed her turns in second! There’s nothing more exciting than seeing your students shine on stage! Here is a solo choreographed to American Money by Borns. by @ylrchoreography

I had the pleasure of choreographing a contemporary routine for the Glenn HS Gems for their Gala in March. So thankful for this opportunity to work with such a talented group of young ladies! 💎

At the time I was starting this project the only word that was on my mind is “forgiveness”. The hardest battle we can over come is forgiving ourselves for our own mistakes because we are our own worst critic. It’s not easy, it takes time, but peace comes, & that’ll set you free.

Enjoy this beautiful routine I choreographed.

In high school she was a member of the Crockett HS Tex-Ann dance team for 3 years where she served as senior lieutenant for 1 year. She then started her journey in the dance department at Texas State University to get her B.F.A. in Performance and Choreography. During her time at TXST she trained with the very prestigious staff who teach there and has choreographed or performed in various shows at the university.
