When the demo makes sense… until it’s your turn. 👀 Don’t worry—we’ve all been there. At the Y, our trainers meet you where you are and keep it fun while you learn. by @ymcavbr

One moment says it all.

When he first arrived, he wouldn't even touch the water. By the end of the session, he was holding onto a pool noodle and kicking across the pool with confidence. That's the power of patience, encouragement, and creating a safe place to learn.

Through our partnership with the VIA Centers for Neurodevelopment, children and adults with autism visit the YMCA each week to build confidence in and around the water while learning life-saving water safety skills. Together, we're helping children and young adults gain independence, practice self-rescue techniques, and develop skills that can make a lasting difference.

Every person deserves the opportunity to feel safe, confident, and successful in the water—and we're proud to help make that possible. by @ymcavbr

Mahjong is more than a game. It’s a reason to gather, learn something new and build community.

We’re excited to partner with @starcitymahjong to bring beginner-friendly mahjong lessons to the YMCA at Tanglewood, where participants can learn the basics, understand the rules and meet new people along the way.

Interest has been strong, and there is currently a waiting list for upcoming sessions. If mahjong has been on your list to try, add your name and be among the first to know when a spot opens up. Visit ymcavbr.org
