Thank you God for my body, my mind, my discipline, and my grit.

Jasmine, thank you for always pushing me to chase the things that set my soul on fire, no matter how crazy they sound. Thank you for carrying so much of the weight at home so I can continue pursuing these goals. None of this happens without you.

Selah, I hope one day you see this and understand that every mile, every workout, every early morning, every moment I wanted to quit but didn’t, was for you.

The question I kept asking myself over the last few weeks was: Why?
Why put my body through this?
Why willingly sign up for something that I knew was going to hurt?
Why keep coming back for more?
And every single time, the answer was the same.
Because one day my daughter is going to face something that feels impossible.
And when that day comes, I want her to know that impossible is usually just a story we tell ourselves before we try.
I want her to know that excuses are comfortable, but growth lives somewhere on the other side of discomfort.
I want her to know that she is capable of so much more than she may think.

This was, without a doubt, the hardest thing I’ve ever put my body and mind through.
There were moments where everything hurt. Moments where I questioned myself. Moments where my body wanted to stop.
But in the middle of that race, something clicked.
Selah locked eyes with me.
I stopped worrying about the finish line.
I stopped thinking about how much was left.
I stopped negotiating with myself.
And I just went.

To every version of myself that wanted to quit and didn’t, thank you.

Because this race wasn’t really about HYROX.

It was about proving to myself, once again, that I’m capable of more than I think.

And hopefully showing my daughter that she is too.

Toronto, you’re next.
