Wednesday night Whitney Museum Halloween party. #andy #frida by @yobruno

We keep our morning coffee local. But yesterday we drove 2 hours (okay, an hour and 50 minutes) for lattes, monkey bread, and a side of banter, served up by the ever energetic, adorable, hilarious, warm and welcoming spousal duo Rob and Adele. Man do I miss those morning zingers. (Rob saw us walk in and called out "Sorry, we just closed!) Amazing seeing them getting to know their customers just one week in. And it turns out the Catskills in fall? I said to Mark "Oh my god it's so beautiful" at least 18 times. So I'm leasing a bus to drive there for coffee every Friday. It'll take a while and I'll probably get fired from my job, but they promised to put a picture of Pippa on the wall. Who's with me?!? @goodboycatskills @localcoffeemontclair (Oh and just to be clear, I'm kidding. I don't really have a job.) by @yobruno

Happy Montclair Film Festival, for those who celebrate. We invited Mark's mom and Aunt Terry and saw 7 pretty awesome movies this weekend. And I didn't die of popcorn salt dehydration! We also checked out the Whitney's new Lichtenstein exhibit. So so good. I wanted all of them. And Peggy and Terry even got yelled at by security for touching the frame when I made them pose for a picture. So we felt like rebels. Had lunch at Pastis where I invoked my "if profiteroles are on the menu I *must* order them" guiding life principle. And if all that wasn't enough, we had Miami's own Mary McHenry in town Thursday night. Bliss!

Yesterday was an irresistible warm and sunny fall day. And we were hungover. But I coaxed Mark into the car for lunch and a stroll through charming Hastings on Hudson. Just when my energy was flagging, Mark suggested we walk down by the water. It took some doing, picking our way from town down to the river's edge. When we finally emerged at a small beach clearing, we found these two bald eagles resting on a pier with the awesome stone palisades as their backdrop. We watched them for a while, wondering if we'd catch some glorious display of flying show-offery, but no dice. Maybe they were hungover too. by @yobruno

Live fish cam for Paige. #fishcam #allalivestill #yourewelcome by @yobruno

Kate passed through for a night! Took her out for a legal drink since we hadn't seen her since she turned 21. She wanted Mark's tuna salad, a bath, and to sleep with the dog on her bed. The simple pleasures of home. 💕 by @yobruno

Super duper massive mega huge birthday love going out to the true original made-me-a-mama wonderful and great KATE who turned 21 fingers old yesterday. How often do you find someone so kind, hilarious, thoughtful, and good at making chicken cutlets in this world? Miss you madly! We can't wait to have you buy us a drink when we celebrate together soon. xo MAMA by @yobruno

I used to joke that my kids should start a falconry club to make themselves unique college applicants. Of course they needed no such thing. It was really *me* who was always fascinated by these creatures. And owls! When in Vermont I nearly drive off the roads searching for them in the trees. So I booked a stay at a castle as an anniversary surprise for Mark--when we were in Ireland a couple weeks back. They had a falconer (a few, in fact), as I guess most well-appointed castles do? The one we spent an afternoon with, Jack, I'd cast in a movie if I was in that business. (Note to Mark: We still need to tip him.) Anyway, what a soul-stirring afternoon. I'd like to fill my empty nest with adorable owls, but I guess the thing about magical beings (one's children included) is that even when you want to keep them close you need to let them be free. by @yobruno

We delivered Paige to her semester in Dublin.🍀🍀 Setting up a dorm room after sleeping for an hour on an international red-eye is like a Herculean team-building test. Add to that having to figure out what the local Target-type store is--then driving there on the wrong side of the road. We didn't bicker once! (We bickered 2 or 3 times.) She's in one of the older apparently less-desirable quads, but I found it leafy and lovely. Everyone has singles--with their own bathroom! And 6 kids share a big kitchen (dining halls aren't a thing) and a living room. Extremely cool set-up. And hopefully people will learn to fully shut the exterior door to the building so the alarm will stop going off. Mark and I adventured around Ireland for the week to let her settle in, but got to see her Saturday for some last bits of shopping and dinner. Initial reports are glowingly positive--everyone's friendly and from all corners of the globe, the pubs and clubs are fun and open late, and there's lots of sitting on the grass in big groups hanging out. I remember that last one from my own college days. Fare thee well, little Paigey! We love you like crazy. Call us every now and then. xo by @yobruno

Watching "football" and chatting with these sweet guys at a Galway pub. They are drinking Coors. 🤣🤣🤣 by @yobruno

Handy little traffic island where this pub sticks their empty kegs. by @yobruno

Kate sent us this pic on Monday. (Housemates Ella--who Kate's lived with all 4 years--on the left, and Summer on the right.) College sure flies by! Love these kids. We'll miss getting to visit them. Here's to an awesome last year! xo by @yobruno
