Hey IG family! I'm so excited to finally share some news on a very special project that I'm proud to be a part of. @catalina_thefilm was brought to me by an old friend @martinrusselljohnson who I met on a thesis film set in 2005. He was working crew, and I was one of the leads. He vowed we would work together again one day. Thanks to him and @rsindher and their amazing team, here we are at the Oscar qualifying @lashortsfest August 7th 315pm to share this special film about loss, care giving, and what that could possibly look like in the future. Check the link in the bio of the @catalina_thefilm page for tickets and information. Those who are able to make it and want to support us, we would love to have you. Those who cannot, stay tuned. There's more to come!

The martial arts have many icons, so getting a chance to share space with and learn from the legend @inosantodaniel was a perfect way to spend the weekend!

Weapons and Jun Fan methods, and just sharing knowledge. You forget how much you remember as soon you start to flow. Shout out to the academy and instructors for being open. And big thanks to my brotha in arms @porthos_of_long_beach for the invite 💪🏾

3/21/22 Four years ago. Seems so far away. Feeling your energy constantly but in different ways and varying waves. Moments that I find myself laughing about what you'd say in that particular moment. Or when friends remind me of funny moments they remember of you. Your spirit is alive and well. My neighbor Jose sent that third photo. He forgot he had it. Jose and his family are special people. He's also our gardner. His mother in law Mary was a scrappy old lady, and she'd come by early in the morning to bug mom and chit chat because she took her walks. My mom would always say, "Oh lord, I bet that's Mary, lol
She lived to about 90 something. Told her that old lady likes you, so be nice. They'd invite us over for tacos and nopales salad (cactus) and some Cazadores shots 🤣
This third photo was a day she went there by herself to hang out with them, lol
The last few are some I found from our vacations over the years.

That's who she was. Loving, laughing, and always optimistic. It's where we get it from and why we try our best to carry that spirit. Life hasn't been easy since she's gone, but it's never that bad we don't keep moving. We'll keep living with as much grace and joy as possible.

Flashback to an episode of @mistressesabc where I played a slick Publicist named Troy Baker. Had an amazing day on set. The writer came to me to politely ask if we could cut a couple of my lines for the sake of time. Of course I said yes. The scene wasn't compromised so why not. I was surprised to see how relieved she was that I agreed. Apparently some actors get a little upset.

Unfortunately my character didn't get more episodes as planned due to the series being cancelled, but nevertheless we al had fun. Shout out to the director @sharatraju7 for the energy and the kind words after we wrapped that night.
