*New drink alert*

My drink is call Gingertrification because it represents LA. Well My LA, not the stuff we see on TV. Growing up, I saw small businesses lose out on prime locations and the hood slowly become the suburbs because larger corporations and white folks decided our historically "undesirable areas" were a better (more affordable) fit for them. Gentrification works alot like my drink- baits you because it looks appealing and refreshing then BOOM it's in your face and you're feeling the punch it packs...be it ginger or the bourbon.
Ask any Black person from the area gentrification started out slow and now it's all in our faces. This is me taking the power back one sip at a time. by @yofavebartender

So, I'm doing a thing y'all! I've decided to enter into the Black Restaurant Week's- Best Black Bartender Competition! The theme is "rep yo city"...and well, if you Black in LA you know gentrification is real! so, this is me calling it out and in my own bartending way, taking the power back. one sip at a time 🍸@blackrestaurantweek @makersmark by @yofavebartender
