Turns out years of “I’ll fix my posture tomorrow” has consequences. Who knew. 🙂Dead hang is basically me apologising to my spine daily.And here’s why it actually works —When you hang, your body weight creates traction on the spine. The vertebrae separate slightly, discs get room to decompress, and all that built-up pressure from sitting, standing, and just existing starts to release.30 seconds a day. That’s it. For the longest time I treated it only as Plantar Fasciitis. I did all exercises possible. I did all measures of healing possible. I even started to blame my pcos for it. It was always the other way round. Holding on to emotions and suppressing them to survive and make everyone around myself feel normal was my strategy of survival for the longest time. Till I started developing pain, autoimmune disorders like pcos, unhealthy relationship and disregard towards my own body. Your body holds everything in its physical form no matter how intangible you think it could be. Seek out help, give time to yourself, focus on your Mental health and only reach to people who feel emotionally connected with you and emotionally safe for you. Speak out your mind as much as you want and NOBODY GETS TO TELL YOU TO BE QUITE AND NOT EXPRESS. You’re the only one who understands your body’s need of getting out of pain. You have to be your own saviour. Stop waiting for someone else to come and do the work for you. Stay confident and trust your gut. by @yoga_with_yukti
