Oh my! 😳 I’ve officially hit 6 months with my red light cap.

I’ve also added a few more hair-growth “interventions” back in June to the routine. I found some GREAT scalp exfoliation brushes and an applicator that works so well for applying topical serum- it distributes it perfectly without making my hair feel greasy! I typically apply at night and let it dry. The brush on the left was from Aldi, believe it or not and the one on the right along with the applicator are from @kitsch

I’m using the shampoo every 2–3 days and the topical serum nearly every night. And yes… I’ve still been saving the hair from my brush for almost 2 years now! 😳😂 While hair loss happens all day long, I have kept hair from the brush to monitor volume lost. There’s no way I can count every single strand that falls out! Especially as a hair twirler- I’m loosing it every time I twist and knot it between my fingers.

I’ve learned SO much throughout this process, and there’s definitely more to come! Wait until I share the progress photos. I just made some side-by-sides tonight! 💇‍♀️✨ by @yogarunwine79

2-0. Two Decades of You, Jackson Reed.

August is always a month that seems to come and go in the blink of an eye, but this August? It has felt like 536 days long!!

To recap… Jack was in a motorcycle accident on August 4. Thankfully, through the kindness of strangers, the incredible care of so many people, and the grace of God, he is well on his road to recovery. Most importantly, he was wearing his helmet.

After spending three days in the Burn/Trauma ICU in Rockford, Jack has been home and focused on healing. About 40% of his body suffered extensive road rash, and his left ankle has a significant wound that will take time, patience, and plenty of care to heal properly. PT is helping him maintain mobility, (he is using his band @dfenza123 ) and we know that before long, he’ll be back in the air. ✈️

And then came the long-anticipated college drop-off. Jack is officially settled into his apartment at the University of Dubuque and ready to begin this next chapter. His first day of school falling on his birthday has always been a favorite of his (not really)- and this year, that milestone feels even more meaningful.

Through it all, his spirits remain high. He’s strong, determined, and keeping a positive attitude through it all.

Along with the hair loss on the top of my head, I also noticed a significant change in my eyebrows. Cue the microblading! I had this done in December of 2021. About a year after I noticed significant hair loss. Side note: I was nervous when I started minoxidil last year (June 2025) that it might increase facial hair in areas, but that wasn’t my experience at all. If it’s recommended to you, don’t be afraid to give it a try as an option. My Revian cap does sit fairly low on my forehead and I feel it has some benefit to the hair growth of my eyebrows recently. 6 weeks in with the Revian cap and this might be the best progress I’ve seen so far 👀

Here’s the real journey…
2020–2022: Nutrafol- helped with length, but no noticeable density changes.
2022: Biopsy confirmed androgenetic alopecia. Started 100mg Spironolactone- some regrowth, but nothing major.
2025: Added 2.5 mg Minoxidil- more improvement, but still minimal “coverage” change.

Now… 6 weeks with the Revian cap and I’m finally seeing significant new growth. Also, giving some credit to @burrisabbie27 for snapping some photos while doing my hair and afterwards, at the gym. 🤣
