AUTUMN EQINOX 🔥

Today we gathered around the fire to raise our prayers for the Autumn Equinox.

A moment of balance, when day and night are equal, before the days slowly grow shorter and nature invites us to slow down and turn our awareness inward.

Only three women gathered today, creating space for vulnerable sharing about womanhood, the different passages of life, our challenges and our strength.

Feeling grateful for the simplicity of today, and for the reminder that sometimes the smallest circles can hold so much potential ❤️🔥🙏🏼 by @yogini_cat

52 today 💫

Life has a way of reminding us just how vulnerable we are.

Just when we think we have figured things out, when we feel grounded and strong and think we know where the path is taking us, life can suddenly surprise us.

This past week has reminded me how deeply we feel as human beings. How emotional pain can be just as real in the body as physical pain. How quickly our inner world can change, even when everything around us looks exactly the same as it did yesterday.

That’s part of being human. We don’t get to know what’s waiting around the next corner. We don’t get to control everything that comes our way.

I’m constantly learning how to meet it with an open and very vulnerable heart ❤️

To feel it.
To soften into it.
To accept what is.
To bend, so I don’t break.

52 years of life, and I’m still learning that this journey isn’t about having it all figured out.
It’s about learning how to dance with whatever comes snd love heard 🤍 by @yogini_cat

Back to routine, but still very much enjoying this extended Portuguese summer ☀️🌊🌿

The past week has been a lovely mix of family time, beautiful hikes, celebrating my son turning 18 🎉 getting back to teaching yoga, a dear friend visiting, and some much needed sister time 💕

Preparing the shala for a new season 🌿

For me, preparing the yoga shala before a new semester is always a little ritual and a ceremony.

A proper deep clean, scrubbing and rinsing every mat, washing the floors, refreshing the props and cleansing the space with sage. Clearing out the old and making space for a fresh beginning.

My private garden yoga shala is ready again, with small, intimate groups and space for personal attention.

I’m so looking forward to welcoming familiar faces back and hopefully some new ones to ✨🙏🏼✨

Coming home to a place that knows my story.

This is where I come from. Where my family has lived for generations, close to the land and the elements.
Living with nature, from nature, and by its rhythms.

I return here every year to remember, to honor the land, our history and traditions, and the ways of life passed down through generations.

There is so much abundance in ordinary moments when we slow down enough to pay attention.

Playing my flute, with the birds singing along and the wind moving through the trees, reminds me that life doesn’t always ask us to do more. Sometimes it simply asks us to listen 🌿 by @yogini_cat

Back from Being Gathering with sore muscles, tired feet and very little sleep... somehow I’m feeling stronger, fitter, more alive and more inspired than when I arrived.

Days of so much walking, dancing, swimming, sweating through 39°C, inspiring conversations, beautiful encounters, and so much laughter.

This year was extra special because I got to experience it with my whole family. Watching my husband and our three teenagers enjoy it in their own way filled my heart more than I can put into words.

After 12 years in Portugal, I feel so grateful for the soul family I’ve found here. Coming together like this is something I’ll carry with me for a long time.
